So happy they found the cutscene in the Russiya China Shop. Without spoiling anything, you learn some stuff in Shenmue II that makes that cutscene mean a lot more and it's really neat.

The way to get the note translated is by talking to the guy you had to call before. You already used him to translate once before. You can also talk to the guy in the suit later in the game.

Love the music that plays in the antiques shop when you have conversations with the old man. So beautiful. Such a great damn game!

The way to get the note translated is by calling the Mster Chn guy, you already used him to translate before.

It would have been funny to see the guys reactions if they walked in to this place, since they keep running by it.

Since they are confused by what exactly makes it a "mirror"(I was too, before doing some googling), this might... shed some light on things? Haha, will be here all week folks!

Basically, light shone unto the undecorated side will project the decorations on an adjacent surface.

Let's see if the game finally opens up now. Not talking about action packed gameplay or good new elements but... Hmm, less tedious "quests". Perhaps some mindless exploring could be healthy? Of course other than the QTE stuff in the arcade.

Their total bewilderment at the game not letting you waste money on the fortune teller was amazing.

@triviaman09: It is one of the few things that seems to against the game's mantra of freedom. You're totally on lock-down from the time you get the money until the time you give the travel agency the money.

By the way, been revisiting Streets of Rage Remake (shhhh don't tell SEGA) and they use an arcade machine in the backgrounds called "EXCITE QTE 3".

Yeah it is weird, and I'm glad Vinny at least tried to subvert it.

The getting kicked out then gate slowly closing moment was so stupid and awesome.

They are heading into one of the few parts of the game where they will have to wait around a while, because they are starting something in the morning that will require them waiting until the next day. There really haven't been that many of those as people make it seem like. This is partly to encourage the player to explore the other things in the game that there pretty novel at the time.

They can practice their moves to improve their stats, practice against the person in the house, buy more moves, play the raffle, buy capsule toys, follow up on some of the things they haven't done yet. They can call the guy to have him translate the thing they have. There's still businesses they haven't walked into yet.

Shenmue 2 did add a time advance feature so you don't have to wait around, and it improved some of the other things in the game.

"I've got 2 tickets to paradise. Won't you pack your bags and go fuck yourself?"

I hate this game.

Someday. Someday there will actually be something for them down that dead end in Sakuragaoka.

It's a nice thought that he is sitting there waiting to hit the button at precisely the same time every single morning, but that's not how it works. The videos go up in advance and a time is set for the content to go live, then it magically happens.

I wonder if you actually can attempt to have the Mysterious Scroll translated by Dobuita Chinese people, but it wasn't working because they weren't locking on to the people.
