I wonder if Brad went to play Anthem? I saw IGN had their impressions as an exclusive today, but I wonder if the other media has their stuff this week or something.

I'm really interested to see how grisly the fatalities are in the new Mortal Kombat game. The 'wishbone' fatality from the MK reboot has yet to be topped in shock value and cringe, in my opinion.

Pretty shocked there was no mention of AOC appearing on a DK64 twitch stream which raised 300 thousand dollars for trans kids. That was a huge story last weekend that got absurdly big. Maybe next week?

Fire Walks with Me is perfectly fine. I honestly judge how much of a TP fan someone is by how much they get FWWM. I'm not saying if you don't like you don't get it...but if you don't like it you don't get it :)

@tactis I am excited for someone to actually know what that game is. I still have 0 clue what that game is even supposed to be.

I recall enjoying Mario World on my first play-through, but cooled substantially on it by the time I had finished it due to how unchallenging it was relative to past Marios. Even at the age of 11 I began to view it as a game for little kids and never cared to go back to it.

1-Ups in that game were freely attainable (Yoshi+Yoshi=1up), which made the concept of 'lives' meaningless - it's basically impossible to lose in the game. Yoshi granted you the ability to get hit without consequence. Banking a powerup made you effectively twice as versatile at any moment, or you could take an extra hit. Exiting levels at any time without penalty allowed you to acquire said Yoshi, 1-Ups, and 2 powerups anytime you needed. Then you have things like the cape allowing you to fly forever, more or less the equivalent of a P-Wing, meaning many levels with open ceilings could be bypassed altogether.

Is SMW polished? Pretty? Inventive? Good-controlling? Yep, but it didn't/doesn't feel rewarding to play. Those mechanics are not far off from what you'd get with a Game Genie in earlier Marios, and similarly once the novelty of being over-powered wears off, it's just not that interesting.

I'm with Jeff on the guest characters in MK.

I would much rather see more MK characters as DLC instead of leaning on other series. The alien from Alien or Freddie Kruegger or whoever will never be as exciting as, say, Cyrax and Sektor.

I don't think No Russian even registered as incredibly shocking moment to me. To be fair, i was not really checking the internet for game discussion back then. It felt on a similar level to GTA, Carmageddon & State of Emergency to me. Manhunt sounded a lot more shocking, but i haven't played it to see how that played out in execution.

An imsomniac singleplayer star wars game could be cool. Sadly that doesn't seem to be the kind of game they are looking for. Gotta be multiplayer, social or have enough michael transaction hooks in it. Even in this press release they cite that the game they are making should be something that players can keep coming back to. We all know what that means in their eyes.

Regarding refunds on Artifact: Weren't most early players able to turn a profit on Artifact by selling their cards off?

good work on the video version on this one jan. i usually notice a couple things that are off on some bombcasts such as tilted framing or inconsistent colors between the three camera shots, but this one was pretty good.
