This was a fun playdate between coasts.

Didn't even realize the playdate was happening and it's already archived. This game looks pretty cool. Gonna pick it up since I loved Factorio.

ive been hammering this game its very addictive

Really liking these cross coasts PlayDates. Also Satisfactory is pretty decent, hopefully there are more hostile critters down the line like the Ants in factorio. I want something to push against my expansion.

@jimmyoct87: I just watched the whole Demon Souls series with Brad and Vinny and it's real good. Vinny calling the doggo a Crystal Lizard and Brad murdering it in the beginning of this stream was very relevant.

I enjoyed this stream a lot and wouldn't mind a bunch more of it.

I feel like putting some storage between the miners and smelters would be a good idea. At least until you're consuming the ore faster than you can produce it.

God that space elevator construction animation is so fucking cool. I was interested in this game from the get-go, but this stream and the QL have fully convinced me that I'll lose a lot of time to it - probably post-early access though. Thanks, y'all!

Also, the moment they decide to build the object scanners is hilarious! While Vinny tries to get to the slug via scanner, Brad finally built the workbench and asked what he was about to do...Both of you forgot, even as Vinny was using his new toy. XD

This would be a good series that you could revisit as the game develops.

Also I love how Vinny still thinks it's a different planet. I thought that initially too!

Everyone should have a friend like Brad or Vinny. So glad they are enjoying this game!

Safely remove ticks by using tweezers to grasp the pest as close to the skin as possible. Gently but firmly pull directly out from angle of bite. Ideally the full pest will be removed; save it by attaching it to a piece of tape and paper or in a vial and reserve for testing. Clean the wound with alcohol and observe; fever/chills/headache plus the 'bulls-eye' pattern bite is characteristic of lyme disease. Antibiotics can treat it effectively but the sooner you see a doctor the better.

Do not yank ticks. Do not smother ticks. Do not burn ticks. Only pull them slowly and if the head remains see a doctor ASAP.

This game looks very similar to Empyrion (an absolutely fantastic build things on planets and fly to other planets in space game that is way better than No Mans Sky imho), but that isn't a bad thing although my main complaint from watching this is that the FOV seems pretty low so hopefully it can be adjusted.

All of that being said I think I am going to pick this up after seeing how much fun and polished this looks. Thanks for the very entertaining video.

Edit: Yup there is a FOV slider in game, goes up to 120. Woo!

Vinny playing this got me way into this game. I decided to do the area they do in this playdate and when I spawned I spawned near 4 patches of pure iron and 2 patches of pure copper. I got up to the coal factory and decided to stop there and wait for the game to come out of early access. I didn't want to see all of the game while it was still in early access. My pro tip for this game is to take advantage of the conveyor splitters and mergers

This game looks awesome, I love these building games where it's just building and not worrying about player management. I downloaded that Conan game on PS+ and changed all the settings so player management is basically zero and am just blissfully building stuff. Any other recommendations for games on PS4 like this? I've done Dragon's Quest Builders 1/MGSurvive already.

Been said a lot, but this was a ridiculously effective "quick look" at the game. Obviously hard to do for a lot of games but it was definitely enough for me to go give epic my payment info and buy it

Now that I've played a bit...this isn't that good of a suggestion. The buildings do have the built-in ability to buffer up to one stack which is decent enough until you unlock the overclocking. Adding a storage container (which isn't available right away) would allow to avoid stalling the miners but unless you plan to consume the excess using manual crafting or overclocking later, it's probably not worth the time & significant footprint of that container.

Some "protips" from my experience so far:

- after analyzing power slugs you can unlock overclocking. But the secret best thing is that this also lets you *underclock*. I suppose *eventually* you will want to max out the potential resource output rate of your nodes, but doing so does involve lots of buildings and complicated conveyors etc. Whereas the energy efficiency when underclocking is hugely advantageous, and lets you tame any wasted / spiky power consumption (e.g. iron rod production is slower than the rate at which smelter produces ingots, so underclock the miner & smelter to get the same rod output for less energy).

- coal is a huge upgrade. especially if you get a high-quality node, you can run a bunch of generators off it for way above unity, and still have lots of leftover raw coal (this is used for steel, send it into a container for now). I suggest overclocking those generators as much as you can too. You'll probably be able to completely remove the biomass generators from the grid.

- you can put multiple portable miners on the same resource node, instead of needing to find different deposits. I didn't figure this out till later but it would help the early game go faster to abuse it.

- I haven't found any use for copper aside from wire (and then wire -> cable) yet. Get a single copper mine producing wire early and just let it crank. Wire stacks high and even though you do need a lot of it, I have found that a single constructor producing wire (without overclocking) has easily kept up with my wire demands up through tier 4 milestones.

Anyone else unable to not hear We Will Rock You when they are hitting a resource?

Got a real "Moon" vibe (the Duncan Jones movie) when Vinny took his ride. Two moments actually. The ride itself like the ending and a different Moon vibe when he respawned and kind of what that whole movie is.

This is zen as fuck and exactly what I needed this weekend. Thank you and I would watch another 3 hours in a heartbeat!

I really really want this as a series

This was a great stream, very relaxing. Vinny going to space was true magic too.

I certainly wouldn't mind if this gets turned into a series.

Kinda surprised with them being real into the animations of things they didn't take a close look at the best part.

From the side of all the machines you can see animations of each component being put together!

This was just fantastically chill. I'll mirror other comments and say I'd really love to see more streams of this. Brad + Vinny was such a nice throwback to old GB.

@vinny, I would love to see you playing more of this game; the Unfinished and Playdate just wasn't enough!
