Angel wasn't in this game. Oleg of course makes a brief appearance before dying along with the Earth, and Zimos gets the odd mention here and there, but Angel appears to have practically been erased from the entire canon.

Not exactly a big loss, though, considering he's easily the most boring member of the Saints. Still, it's undeniably weird considering how pretty much every other character across the series gets some sort of mention if not a cameo. Maybe one of the other voices makes a reference to him, though. But there was certainly no mention to my recollection as the Robin Atkin Downes boss. I guess Hulk Hogan just wasn't interested in reprising the role?

Also, unrelated, but I thought it was touching to see Michael Clarke Duncan get a mention in the cast credits, along with a short snippet of him singing.

Angel is mentioned during the race mini games.

One of Nolan North's quips makes reference to him.

The Michael Clarke Duncan thing was great. They must have recorded his voice pretty early on in the project.

Viola not being in it is a bigger loss, was Angel even a Saint in 3? Viola sure was

lol, I completely forget about her. Though she was also one of the weaker newcomers in SRTT; Oleg is the only one I genuinely missed, and it was even a little sad hearing Kinzie mourn him in her final audio log. But hey, we got Gat back, so I guess it evens out :P

They mention in the Character-Creation news ticker that an autobiography of his life will be opening on Broadway. "Piledriver: The Musical". Maybe he's just decided to get out of the action and retire, and isn't interested in politics.

Yeah, I know, but I at least didn't instantly spring to the conclusion that Roddy Piper would actually star in the game. I just assumed it was a sly reference to They Live, since it's tied to Keith David's side-mission sets. Plus, it's still a helluva lot more ambiguous than Volition releasing a whole trailer centred on Burt (Fucking) Reynolds.

I was kinda upset that Killbane didn't make an appearance. I mean, if they brought back "villains" from Saints Row 1 and 2 as homies, why not Killbane? He wasn't voiced by someone famous like Angel (Hulk Hogan) was, right?

Nah, he was voiced by Rick Wasserman, who's career is primarily made up of doing a lot of TV voice overs (he's the ''Next time on AMCs's Breaking Bad/Walking Dead'' guy) and minor bit roles as thugs and henchman. He was still in that text adventure when you try to save Matt least, but yeah, both Loren and Cyrus got voiced appearances, and Matt Miller of course become an ally, so KillBane's the odd one out.

Saints Row IV obviously went through a hectic development, though, so I'm sure they probably couldn't fit him in or something.

@yummylee: Yeah, given the history of that game, and the fact that most of it is amazing and fantastic, I'm more than willing to cut Volition a little slack.

Besides, I can just replay The Third if I want my Killbane fix.

Oh, and because I'm too lazy to go find that other thread you made that I was on half an hour ago, Saints of Rage was my favorite level in the game. It's more fun than most actual beat'em'ups (at least of the ones I've played).

Hey, there's always DLC. Seriously though, at least the game has a insta-eliminate loose threads element to it, with that one plot point...

I was kind of pissed off with everyone they killed, but considering the (good) ending and whatever they come up with for DLC, they've set it up so then can do pretty much anything. Anything.

Well since the Saints got the ability to travel through time, I'm sure they'll go back to before Earth was destroyed and somehow stop its destruction, or at the very least, rescue the others they left behind. Seeing as how 4 basically ended on a clean slate, they can do pretty much whatever they want with the DLC and the inevitable Saints Row 5.

Yeah I found it weird with the lack of Angel and Viola.

I can kind of understand it as well though. Angel being voiced by Hulk Hogan if he was busy or just didn't want to take part then he's easy enough to cut. And Viola being voiced by a former porn actress, it does seem like they are trying to cut their ties to that kind of stuff now.

I didn't make the connection. And I even saw Roddy listed in the imdb credits before getting to that part. It wasn't til I actually got there that I put it together, so it still managed to be completely amazing. I just wish they had done a "Cripple Fight" thing and re-enacted the entire alley brawl

It helps they had another public random celebrity cameo so people didn't expect a 2nd one, yet the public cameo was perfectly related to the secret cameo.

I wonder if they brought in Keith Davis solely to justify that They Live sequence.

I want to see what happens when I call up Oleg and Jane Austen at the same time. (You know she'll have to be a homie.)

I REALLY REALLY hope that she has a bigger part in the DLC or SR5 instead of just being a quick cameo. That series of pictures at the credits looks like they'd make a really interesting game. Traveling through time with Jane Austen, changing history. I CANNOT WAIT FOR SAINTS ROW 5

Really much more bumed out by the lack of Oleg in the game. Zinyak leaving him on earth doesn't even fit the logic of the game.
