A dark power that is usually the cause for the world's strife. The curse can only be broken after the protagonist (or band of protagonists) defeats several dangerous trials.
Videogame bosses, generally enormous ones, that take up the entire background of the screen you fight them on, usually only extending the body parts they attack with (and for some reason, their weak point) into the foreground where the player can interact with them.
Betrayal is when a person breaks the trust and faith that others have placed in them.
Attitudes towards the Clown vary from person to person. Some find entertainment and humor, others feel really creeped out by their overly flamboyant nature. Ultimately, games tend to take the path of a more horrific presentation to stimulate the atmosphere of a particular setting.
Many video game villains oftentimes laugh in evil ways, be it a vicious cackle, a sneering chuckle, or a booming laugh. Common evil laughs often include "Bwa-ha-ha", "Mwa-ha-ha", or "Ho ho ho".
Characters who lack body parts that people in the real world have, yet they still utilise their bodily functions.
Characters that are overweight have more body fat than normal for their race, or at least look it. A character that is overweight may or may not have great strength.
A narrative that takes an unexpected turn. Commonly, plot twists come in the form of revealing that the player character is not actually who they thought.
Spearheads are a basic enemy in Wario Land 3. They reappear as a playable character in Dr. Mario 64.
A boss that doesn't move around during battle. It will instead use other means to "reach" the player.
A transformation is a different stage or form for something. Usually an upgrade.
A malevolent character whose goals are evil in nature. While villains are commonly featured as antagonists, not all antagonists are necessarily villains.
This is a place of special vulnerability. Particularly used in boss fights or when simply fighting Giant Enemy Crabs that cannot be defeated by usual means.
