So im watching the ER at the moment and watching Brad not reload after every fight drives me nuts. I have also realised that on the other hand I may "over" reload. What I mean by this is the fact that after killing an enemy I will instantly hit the reload button even if I have 90% of a magazine left. This keeps my gun full of rounds, but also gets me in sticky situations when I should be firing but end up dying because I was reloading.

Reload
Concept »
Reloading is the action of replacing the ammunition magazine inside a gun. It adds a touch of realism to most modern shooters, and a certain amount of tension when a player is forced to reload while under fire.
Are you a prolific reloader?
I'm the exact same way. I think a lot of people are. It would be interesting if games started punishing this behavior by wasting whatever bullets were left in the clip when you reload.
Considering the fact how almost every shooter in existence reminds you to keep your gun fully loaded at all times, yes. I am a prolific reloader.
" I'm the exact same way. I think a lot of people are. It would be interesting if games started punishing this behavior by wasting whatever bullets were left in the clip when you reload. "I think Battlefield Vietnam did that.
Also, I'm a reload addict. That killed me countless times in online shooters.
I find myself trying to reload with weapons that are already full, or weapons with no reloading (EX. pyro flamer in TF2).
Interruptible reloads are my friend XD.
My first online shooter was Counter Strike 1.6, where not having a full clip meant you were dead in any combat situation, so I instinctively reload after killing anyone, or shooting my gun at all.
It's a reflex at this point, I just hit R after I shoot. I don't even think about it anymore.
More games need clip management. Where when you reload, you lose all the remaining ammo in the clip when discarding it. BF2 had this and it taught me not to reload constantly since you could only carry 2 or 3 extra clips with you.
Team Fortress 2 has auto reload and they are interruptable now. So no, I don't ever have to manually reload with any other class other than the Spy.
"Same here, it's just instinct for me to hit the reload button as soon as combat ends.i reload everytime im done shooting. ive been doing it since i can remember
"
A large proportion of my deaths in online FPS games is because I'm reloading while walking round a corner.
Yeah, I reload all the time, and am also bothered by seeing people not reloading during safe opportunities. I do try to hang low while I reload, especially if that gun takes a while to reload. Otherwise, I'm totally vulnerable to DEATH!

"I think that's actually a really good idea. I think the whole reloading mechanic should be changed a bit. Also, people don't really reload weapons while still running around at full speed. Usually they'll hide behind cover to reload. Perhaps this is a strategy that games should start to implement.
My brain can't function if I have one bullet missing in the my clip and I am just walking around, I was screaming at the video today when brad was changing his gun in the elevator, I hate indecision and Brad is the king of it.
When playing online multiplayer games I tend to fuck up and get killed every so often because I constantly reload. So I am definitely over-doing the reloading. And I to are driven mad by the ER every time after Vinny or Brad is in a fight.
I reload whenever I'm sure I can't be shot, or while the other guys are shootin up my cover.
Brad fuckin annoys me, he walked around with 0 bullets for like 2 whole minutes!

said:I reload every fucking second in Gears. Sometimes I fire like 90% of a clip at thin air, then active reload jus so I can beast up on fools."Oh boy you should see me play Gears of War where active reloading boosts your damage... "
It's funny when you waddle round a corner fiddlin with your reload animation an you're like AAWWW FUCK WHY DID I DO THIS!?
