Backwards compatibility is the most important next-gen feature. 0

The default tenets on gaming sites is that PC gaming is king, piracy sticks it to the man, free-to-play mobile games have merit, shopping online has any human redeeming value, nobody plays old games, and Gamestop equals bad. I do not subscribe to any of these thoughts.I think irrationality on Gamestops business model comes from being broke and being young. Not understanding why your 8 year old copy of Madden isn't worth $59.98 or not understanding pre-orders is the forced "would you like fries w...

And The Winner For Least Improved Sequel Goes To... 0

The reward winner for least improved sequel is a debatable one. There have been a lot of game sequels that have failed to go beyond the original's potential, I'm sure alot of people would like to point their finger to the more recent Bioshock 2 in this regard. Alot of sequels have also practically ridden on whatever success the first game had to begin with, have a look at Ubisoft's Far Cry 2 and you tell me how it is exactly related to the original. Red Faction 2 doesn't take place on Mars. It doesn't have a whole lot to do with the first game at all, really, and that's okay with me. I love/hate Red Faction. I hate it because the AI was awful, the geo-mod was not entirely impressive or overly useful, and the levels were linear and sparsely decorated. It felt like a crap Half-L...

    Short But Sloppy 0

Red Faction 2 is kind of like if Halo had a more Quake-like focus on explosives. You (more or less) start the game with a grenade launcher that can hold 30 rounds, and you can hold 30 hand grenades on top of that. Hitscan weapons like double uzis, assault rifles, and sniper rifles exist but are either extremely underpowered or take too long between shots. The grenade launcher should be your go-to in most situations. It makes for a more instant-gratification take on Halo-style gameplay and that t...
