Aw man, that sucks to hear. Let it then be known that I greatly appreciate all the assistance you've provided over the years, and I wish you the best of luck with whatever future endeavours you have planned!
You were always one of my favourite reviewers during the GameSpot era! When I first started googling game reviews, you were commonly the one I kept seeing over and over again in video reviews :P
The animation work in the Sonic video is great, but the actual material is so terribly unfunny. Just a lot of Jeff being loud and saying Fuck and Shit a lot. Not really something I'd have thought was asking to be animated.
Remake Onimusha 1 and 2 and I will buy it, Capcom.
Yesssssssss
Yup.
I would like a new one. I mean really I just want more good samurai games. Come on.
That Ni-Oh looks like the closest we've currently got to a new Onimusha game. Though it's being developed by Omega Force, AKA the Dynasty/Samurai/Orochi/One Piece/Gundam/Fist of The North Star/ectectectectect developers, so. I've set my expectations accordingly. It at least looks rather pretty.
When I played REmake, they made me choose a difficulty mode without naming them; Later I learned that the middle option was actually "Easy", and it was utter shit. The game flew by before I even noticed. Ruined the whole experience with an apparently good game.
I guess the moral is, play this one on highest setting available.
Nooo, you really don't want to do that. Zero's the most difficult of the lot on Normal, let alone Hard, which is only advised for people who have already gone through it before. Though yes it sucked how they tricked most people into thinking they were playing Normal in the remake remastering thanks to their vague difficulty descriptions (EDIT: oh, Zero doesn't do this btw; it just lists them out as Easy, Normal, and Hard.) And not to mention the unnecessary inclusion of a Very Easy setting, giving you three options to choose from (as opposed to two originally - Easy and Normal; Hard still had to be unlocked) thereby strengthening the illusion of the middle being Normal.
This is one of the worst entries in the series. Still has some decent parts, but I warn people who haven't played it on the 'Cube not to get too excited.
It's the third worst of the mainline entries I'd say, only above the likes of Veronica and RE6.
Also do not remember anyone liking Code Veronica that much. Especially not as a "big deal" game.
Code Veronica was pretty hyped up pre-release. Whether that was because it was on a new console or the improved graphics I can't really say, but I do remember quite a buzz around that game at the time.
It was 100% because of the backgrounds. It was the first in the series that didn't have pre-rendered environments. I played most of the ps1/ps2 era RE games and I honestly couldn't tell you anything that happened in Code Veronica. That's how good/bad it was.
Funny thing is because they were 3D they were also incredibly bland and lacked all the detail that the pre-rendered games had. Fortunately Capcom knew better and reverted back to pre-rendered for the remake and Zero.
