The main concept behind Majora's Mask is the three-day cycle--every event in the game takes place over the course of the same three days. Each hour roughly translates to about a minute of game time, so the cycle must be restarted every hour. However, very early in the game, Link finds a way to work around this time limit with his ocarina: Link can slow down the flow of time by about three times, he can skip forward…
This console generation has not been kind to the Legend of Zelda series. Often considered to be one of the most beloved console gaming franchises of all time, that legacy has been tarnished in the years since cult classic The Wind Waker released on the Gamecube in 2003. In many ways, Zelda has become a victim of its own success; trying to please all of its fans, yet failing to fully satisfy any of them. Each…
As nearly any gamer now knows, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the beginning of the Zelda saga, portraying the first time that the destinies of Link, Zelda, and Ganon become intertwined with the fate of the ever-powerful Triforce. In order to prevent a dark future under the reign of an evil thief from occurring, Zelda and Link conspire as children to protect the Triforce at any cost on an adventure that has…
When it was released in 2003, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was a critical darling, praised for it’s intriguing story, ideas and fluid gameplay. Following weak sales, however, publisher Ubisoft took the series into the mainstream with ill-conceived ideas that upped the focus on combat, “toughened up” the once-lovable Prince, and added in a soundtrack by hard rock band, Godsmack. As you may have seen in yesterday's mailbag, @duskvamp and I, after meeting on Giant Bomb and dating internationally for 3 years, are moving in together and getting engaged. A lot of the GB forum frequenters already know our story, so I'll cut out the details and just share how involved the staff has been in our relationship. We met at the start of 2011, and began talking seriously about dating...

When I first finished finished playing Halo 3 shortly after release, I was left satisfied but also disappointed. While the gameplay was everything I hoped it would be, the campaign was missing that “epic conclusion” feeling that I was hoping for. After replaying the game again recently, I’ve decide that the reason I was let down by Halo 3 is due to one thing: Halo 2 . Not as fancy as his GTA IV...

Wrote this for Patrick's story, but it wasn't used so I figured I'd throw it up here so the effort doesn't go to waste. My one and only experience with the paranormal took place when I was 5 years old; that cornerstone of cultural significance: 1991. Ah, 1991. Terminator 2: Judgment Day was lighting up our movie screens, Nirvana had ushered in the Grunge movement with the release of Nevermind,...
