@rapid: Oh easily, for funsies I've been forma-ing my Excalibur a bunch, and I have about four or five other frames that I've built over the years. I've been playing since the game launched, just not constantly :D

Whew. I was just checking out NeoGAF this morning and it is an absolute trash fire. I don't see it being worth going back to even if they eventually bring back Off Topic because most of the people that made it worthwhile just got banned for reacting as you'd expect. I made my last post on there and moved on. It just sucks to have that community burned down.

That being said, the first place I thought to come to was here at GB, and the first thing I see is a welcome thread! Thank you so much for rolling out the red carpet, it's awesome. I'm excited to get more involved in the GB community!

You should have seen it last night. Holy crap.

In less than 24 hours some posts already reached gamefaqs or 4chan level of toxicity in there. It will only get worse. With the kind of people it seems to be attracting in last day or so it will more likely be appropriated into Gamefaqs2 or 4chan2 rather than decent discussion space...

I don't know about you but that does not sound like a good place to participate in discussions or overall be in.

Everyone knew when that thing came back online it was going to be backlash central. Looking at the discussions now it's starting to settle down a bit (likely due to a high volume of bans of course). It will never be what it was, and I am 100% confident that the owner and new mods won't learn from this mistake long term. Still, there was a decent community there of people who were ok to discuss things with, would be a shame to lose that portion of the community over this. Unless they came here of course. ;)

The situation was handled so impossibly poorly that it's *almost* comical.

I posted in the statement thread that at this point the only way to move GAF forward was to have EviLore walk away from GAF and that was enough for a permaban (and I guess also responding to someone asking about ResetERA)

@rapid: I've not completed many of the missions, I try my best to solo but I've hit the wall at Jupiter of needing a assistance to defeat bosses. :) Thus, I've got no operator, which was quite confusing for a while when people started talking about masks and lenses and whatnot.

I should really grind some more and toggle on public matchmaking more often.... but D2 is out today, that's not going to help.

Well that's one of the most pathetic statements I think someone could make in his position. I for one would have been willing to give the community a fair chance to move past this shitstorm depending on how GAF's owner brought it back online, but now I think it should have just stayed down.

Oh man.

That ending with Lorca deferring his decision to Starfleet was damn harsh -- he had to know they'd order him to hang back, when he could have just zipped there to rescue her and likely be rewarded with being removed from command by the admiral. I love this new captain, not just because he's a darker character but he's been developing in the series as a very complex character (especially by Trek standards).

Great episode.
