I really, really, really wanted to make this number one but the bullshit twist near the end and Mass Effect's sheer awesomeness made it so I couldn't.

I wasn't quite as hot on Red Dead compared to many other gamers for most of it. However, one of the best fourth acts and endings ever vaulted it all the way up to the top five of the year.
