5 out of 5 starsBack in high school i didn't have a lot of money. I worked a really crappy job at a grocery store for minimum wage and what money i made went to essentials. My computer wasn't the best "gaming rig", and still isn't. However i could play a select few games that would stick with me the rest of my life. Rise of the Triad was one such game. You have to realize when i say back in the day,i mean back when computers were…
Gears of War 22008
5 out of 5 starsThe hype machine rolled into town and I had a ticket to get on. The view wasn't any different than the last time I took this trip but, the ride was still fun. So after finishing Gears last night I realized that, as a whole this game is essentially the same as the last game. The environments all feel like Gears, the weapons all function the same, the characters all still interact the same. That being said... I am…
Super Metroid
5 out of 5 starsAs far as games for my Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) goes, this one sits very high on the charts. The first time i played the game was at a friends house, and on his SNES, not my own. I owned the first Metroid for the regular NES. For whatever reason, possibly b/c it was the first NES game that i purchased on my own, i always loved the game, even with all of it's back tracking and confusing world…
Quantum of Solace2008
4 out of 5 starsSo despite the fact that Daniel Craig is the new Bond, i decided to use that headline. I finished playing through the single player story of 007 Quantum of Solace Tuesday. I don't really know what i should have expected from the game but I don't think it disappointed as much as the last several games did. That being said, this game does deliver a limited amount of the James Bond vibe. From the outset of the story…

It's always surprising when something I have edited/created/curated shows up in the Community Spotlight. I only do it b/c it makes me laugh. I am always appreciative when someone calls out my "Nonsense" and enjoys it. So ... thanks. I love the Yay or Nay section of the final day of GOTY 2019 deliberations. More so without the explanations or comments. Except for @alex_navarro ... poor, poor Ale...
It's not YOUR MMO, but is mine.

Yes, this will be yet another "editorial" on Destiny, but more than that, it's an explanation of why I like it so damn much. I've been reading, over the last week, everyone else either dump on Destiny, or sing its praises. I think both are worthy and viable arguments to make. The thing about Destiny, for me anyways, is that I have never played a game like it before. Sure, I've played space shoo...
A Friend I Never Got To Meet
Jul 8, 2013
I'm not exactly sure how my first interaction with Ryan Davis went online, but most likely, it ended with him sending me the response "BLOCKED". Ryan loved a good joke, and loved the interactions of those involved in said joke. He was always happy, and by his own admission, a guy that would read EVERY email sent to him. I'm sitting here listening to the Saints Row 3 soundtrack, and remembering...
Refreshing my need for gaming
Feb 26, 2013
I have been a "gamer" since I was basically old enough to pick up a controller. I can remember back when my parents and I used to play Atari 2600 all the time. We had a little red notebook that we kept a record of high scores in. It was a lot of fun, and was just a great way to really and truly bond with my family as a whole. These memories I will cherish until my mind dissolves into goo and I...
Expendables 2 - A Movie Review
Feb 25, 2013
Look, I know I'm not going to blow anyone's mind here, but this movie isn't very good. I'll start there, but I will end this review by saying that I respect what Sly is trying to do. The first Expendables movie was pretty bad. It was ridiculous amounts of explosions, gun fire, and CG knives. It was held together by the thinnest of plot lines, and no one should be expected to care about any pers...
Midnight Brown Song Genesis
Jan 16, 2013
Midnight Brown. Speaking on behave of my own personal tastes here, I really like this group. Yeah it's probably influenced by the fact that I am a big Gerstmann fan in general, but my enjoyment of his music didn't come so easy. When I first hear of Midnight Brown, it was right after they "released" their third album Dope/Revenge. I listened to that album and thought it was shit. Sorry Jeff, but...
