@rasrimra: The Easy Start is actually a bad way to start a new game, because choosing a new game properly basically lets you set what endgame and story you want. The game has a bunch of "Mysteries" you can select that basically amount to the plotline that pop up in the mid-to-late game. The details of each mystery are hidden (and only hinted at by the title and quote) and range from semi-realistic survival scenarios to high-concept sci-fi events.
AFAIK easy start has no Mystery selected by default.
Damn it all to hell, I was hoping I could get through this cycle without wanting to pick up a Wii U! My only chance is if the NX is somehow backwards compatible.
If anyone's wondering what "Leifthrasir" means, it's actually a little bit of a spoiler:
"Leifthrasir" is a Norse mythological term for the man and woman that will be left in the new world after Ragnarok wipes the old world away. Given the inspiration for Odin Sphere, knowing that may clue you in as to parts of the ending/epilogue.
I'm quite relieved that the PS VR will be coming in at that price point, as even with the tacked-on cost of a camera, it's below what I would have predicted. And if am going to get into VR in the near future, that headset will be the only one that I can afford, since my own PC is barely on the edge of "capable" based on Valve's benchmarking tool.
My current concern is whether or not Sony, Oculus, and Valve can cooperate in a meaningful way to keep VR at least somewhat unified as an experience. It won't be good if they let all the software languish in separate walled gardens. This is a particular concern for Sony since theirs is potentially the least "powerful" of the three, and is limited to console. Can Sony resist the temptation to keep things "exclusive" and instead release drivers or software that could enable PS VR owners to use their headset on a PC? The use case for PS VR would be much stronger if one could theoretically employ it as a "budget" Oculus or use it with the flood of VR programs that's already coming down the pipe.
@winnipeger: Big fan, yeah. Didn't have a lot of affection for Transformers past high school but getting into the IDW comics converted me. That's why I'm kind of worried by the news that Hasbro plans to "unify" all the current running canon under one banner, over the comics, cartoons, and games. Part of what's cool about the IDW comics is their appreciation for G1 history without being beholden to it, and I'm afraid that might be wiped out in the name of unity
This is all well and good but I wish they'd make a Transformers RPG or Telltale-style game based on the current IDW comic series. Surprisingly Transformers: More than Meets the Eye and its sister series are some of the best comics around right now.
In case you want to know how wide the story has gone in those comics, at the current state of the plot Starscream is King of Cybertron, Megatron is an Autobot, and Soundwave is trying to start a hippy Decepticon commune around Jupiter.
