@FrankCanada97: thanks for that. i wasn't going to say anything :P

@Poki3:
 Yeah this is pretty much pirate heaven as well. the only reason they're selling real ps3 games is because you can't pirate them. if you could, no one would be selling real games. but i don't want to pirate cause it basically means i have to chip my playstation and i can't get online. and nowadays a lot of games are about getting online. also i want to support the games i like. it sucks seeing a game fail in sales when you pirated it :S

i don't know about asking the guy though. cause he's vietnamese, and as a western kid coming in asking for a game that he doesn't have, i'm kind of a low priority. you shoulda seen the shop. i was standing waiting for the guy in front of me to finish (he was getting his Wii hacked) and like three people jumped in ahead of me to ask a quick question in vietnamese and got their errands done before i even found out he didn't have it. i guess i could try to ask him to get it, but i don't see why he would.

i guess play-asia is the best solution. thanks everyone for the help :)

@thai_jedi: Really? I am kind of confused, but I am still kind of convinced.

Jedi mind tricks?  I'll research it some more, then try it out. I'm just worried about the post :P

@thai_jedi: I never heard of play asia. Sounds like a great solution, but I don't know if I trust the Vietnamese post service. They "lose" everything from little CD's that come in magazines to postcards. I guess I'll just buy it during Christmas or something.

 Thanks for the tip, though :D
Maybe I'll go to Bangkok cause they have PS3 games there. :D

@Bucketdeth: Ah well that's what I tried at first. I tried GameStop to get the 8 guns pre-order bonus. And the plan was to send it to a place in America that will send it to the Embassy here in Hanoi. But since I don't live in America, I didn't have a valid phone number, so they cancelled my order :(

@Jeust: Well I already bought myself a PS3. And my friend already has a bunch of games, so I just borrow from him. But I'm just a little pissed off that they didn't get Borderlands because he didn't want to

The internet is fine, I guess. My friend has much better, but I survive.

I've lived in Hanoi, Vietnam (south of China) for 7 years now and gaming has always been different here in Asia. Back when I had a Playstation 2, I would purchase pirated games. Firstly because I didn't even know that the reason my games only cost $1 was because they had downloaded them, but also because there was no place that would sell real games (What kind of a business is that? Selling games for 50 times the price just because they're real when most people don't even care). Same with computer games. But when I realized how detrimental pirating is, I wanted to change, but I didn't know how, because there was no place you could buy real games. When Steam came out, I was so happy cause I thought it meant I could buy more games, only to find that my mom didn't wanna put her credit card number in some weird website.

Any way, when the Playstation 3 came out with its Blu-Ray disks, it's much much much harder to pirate and because of that, there is actually a store that sells real PS3 games in Hanoi. ONE store. I went to that store a week ago and asked for Borderlands, which they had for Xbox, but not PS3, he told me to come back in one week. So yesterday afternoon I went back again and asked him for Borderlands. He tells me they don't have it. I ask why. He says "they don't have it". No I didn't misuse quotation marks. He was talking about someone else.

What I think happened was that this guy didn't think this game would sell enough since it didn't appeal to the asian market (most of their games include PES, FIFA, dynasty warriors and so on). So now I have to wait until my next holiday when I go to a more civilized country to buy my Borderlands.

I hate living in Vietnam
