I still go back and watch them from time to time. I was really hoping he'd cover Prince of Persia, at least.

He didn't do the Silent Hill movies either, which would have been good insult material. Those movies were pretty rotten.

Considering how much live content they're pumping out these days, I could see TANG maybe coming back. I guess eventually you just run out of content (ie movies based on video games), but if Ryan were to come and review new ones after the came out on DVD or something, that would be cool.

Also, Wreck it Ralph.

I really got a kick of out Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout, as well. I played it quite a bit. Definitely wouldn't say it was great, but it had a level of effort in it that one might not expect from a licensed game like that. Worth checking out if you're looking for old NES games like that.

Agreed! It's hardly revolutionary, but it really isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

Really enjoying these blogs. Keep it up, duder!

Thank you! I'm glad people are reading these. Sometimes I wonder...:P

Clicked for Captain Skyhawk. Left satisfied. :)

I actually never played that game growing up, so I have no nostalgia for it at all. I was very impressed and actually booted it up today (even though it wasn't on today's review list) to replay it to try and beat my high score. Great game!

Thanks for the drop! Motivation to keep this up on a daily basis instead of doing other things (like sleep. Eat. Etc.)

My sister-in-law lived on the street where the actual shootout happened, and was locked indoors from last night until today during the manhunt. I was very literally worried for her safety because of this guy.

One of my best friends and his wife lived two miles away and was both at the marathon and his house got put on lockdown. The guy very nearly had a mental breakdown because the manhunt lasted all day yesterday and he was scared to even go outside.

So yeah, I gave a bit of a hoot of relief when they captured him. As to whether or not I want him dead or hurt is another question, but I reserve all judgement until we at least hear his story. But am I glad my sister-in-law and friend feel their lives are at least a little safer now.

Billy Talent's "Dead Silence." I love these crazy canadians to death, and they're one of the best alt. bands in recent memory.

If you do get a SNES, I'd suggest the real deal over the Retron. I've had some weird experiences with the Retrons.

Also, if you buy a real SNES, you run the risk of falling into that "retro gaming hole." It's a fun hole to be in, but can be an expensive one.

Also, if you can get a really awesome CRT you'll be in retro gaming heaven. Sony Trinitrons are pretty much the go-to TV for retro gamers. I was lucky to find a really nice one at my local thrift store on my birthday two years ago (bonus!).

I also have a USB controller, though, to play emus of the games I have on carts on the go. And what everybody said is true: Emulators do tend to play the games better, but if you want that "retro" experience, you gotta get the real deal.

nice write up! Abadox sounds kinda frustrating, but I'm gonna keep my eye out for the Adventure Island games. I watched your video review and it actually looks kinda fun despite not having a continue option (in the first one anyways). I remember playing AMK back when I was a kid. I remember it being fun, but that could be all nostalgia haha!

Also, looks like you've got a nice collection goin there!

Yeah, I kept trying to like AMK, but without any nostalgia for the game I got bored and annoyed pretty quick. It's certainly not the WORST NES game, but compared to Capcom's level of quality in other titles, it's a stinker.

Cool! Though, the big thing I noticed was your hand in those pictures. Holding carts the same way in each one. Almost like your hand isn't real. I know kind of want to photoshop your hand holding other things.

(Also, I will note to not play 8 Eyes. And 1943 -is- a great game.)

I'll work on not putting my massive mitts in future pictures. :)

I have fond memories of 8 eyes. It was fun in co-op playing as the falcon, but man was it hard.

I REALLY wanted to like it, but I just couldn't. I did get farther than I expected (co-op makes it a lot easier and more fun), but man...that game is obnoxious. :P
