A shame they chose AoE 3, damn that game terrible.

And I already own all AOE3 and it's expansions on disk, but do I really want to deal with discs... and they need AOE2 on steam, then i'll be happy.
Coming from AoE 2, AoE 3 can't even compete. Fucked with the formula too much and then we never saw a new game until they released some MMORTS. Age of Mythology please!
Please, AoE 3 was a great game, sure it wasn't as good as AoE 2 for its time, but still, terrible? And AoE 2 was one of the first games i got and it remains one of my favorite strategy games.
I've always been very critical on video game sequels. One bad game can turn me off on the future of said franchise. I don't remember what left a very sour taste in my mouth, but it's still there. They have have yet to redeem themselves in my eyes.
Call me crazy, but I still think they changed the dodo on 9/11 concerns, and I think they knew that it could be flown with enough practice. Hot coffee was another attempt to hide their true mindset. /tinfoilhat
I'm a little bit confused by what you mean by "art"?
Every game needs art assets, you can't necessarily go straight to modeling characters and the world without concept and art direction. Art in video games has always been a weird thing though, but it does exist!
