@sterbacblu: Maybe they mean exclusive download codes... for Steam. Or maybe they'll pull a complete swerve and release it on Origin? Didn't EA used to publish the FF games at some point?
They did. Now that would really be going full circle. Or they could fully go the EA route and start their own service. I'll support a PlayOnline store only if it has this song from the old menus playing non-stop.
Also according to that website above, Steam may not be a thing as it's "Available Exclusively on the Square Enix Store." You know. The Square Enix Store. Where you buy PC games.
Apple may be the surprise winner of the whole SmartGlass thing. If Microsoft wants SmartGlass to work with iOS, it will require an app, and if SmartGlass needs Xbox Live or uses an Xbox Music subscription service, per App Store rules, those subs need to be sold through the App Store or else no app. So Apple gets a 30% cut of any sales of those services done through iOS. Of course they can also pull the "this app mimics services already provided by the OS" (AirPlay) and block the app. They don't have anything to gain by blocking the app, but I think it's going to be interesting to see how this pans out.
I understand the reasoning for the always online connection for those who want to play multiplayer, but it would have been nice if we could opt-in or opt-out from the start. I'll never play this game online, I only enjoy soloing. I don't even like using the followers.
I took a break from Uncharted the first time I played it. Didn't touch it until Uncharted 2 came out, which I finished in a day. Turns out I was only about 15-20 minutes away from the ending. That's a rare case, usually it's hard to jump back into a game. I think I've played the first 10 hours of Persona 3 about 4 times.
