I regret buying the collector's edition of Skyward Sword because the PAL edition was manufactured in Germany which gave us this big ugly rating symbol on the cover:
But I do like the golden Wii remote, but seriously… :( the cover. UK and Nordic versions don't have this, but this was the only version that came with the remote. :/
I really thought there were going to be a post about this here, but oh well. Is anyone from the community participating? :D It's still not too late, just get over to http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/, register and start developing! It's currently 29 hours left.
If you don't know what Ludum Dare is, it's a 48 hour game development competition held twice a year. It's all theme-based. People vote for themes, the winning theme gets presented as soon as the competition starts and you have to make your game around that one theme. This theme is "Minimalism".
I'm participating, along with my friend and business partner and you can check our progress on Twitter @RoyalRailway if you want to. I compose music and make sounds and he programs and creates art.
Hi, I'm Erik, I'm 23 years old and Sweden's where I live. I like video games. I also like to make video games. And compose music for them. Movies are good, too.
I've been playing the piano and composing music since 2006. I've composed a lot of music for games my friends have made, and only 12 days ago I got my first co-developed game out on the App Store. But yeah, this thread is about the music and here's the gameplay music I wrote for the game:
I make my music (since 2010) on a MacBook Pro using Cubase as my workstation and a lot of sample libraries from companies like Native Instruments, EastWest/Quantum Leap and others. Earlier I used Windows XP with a cracked version of FL Studio, but I'm no longer pirating when it comes to making music since I now get paid for it.
