@rorie: oh i totally imagine!! i remember hearing ben hanson talk about it on an episode of the game informer show forever ago and thought, hey! i should do this
@jamesbomb: goodness it totally does curb autopiloting which like, sometimes is exactly what you need but as an undergrad student getting into game dev, journaling super helps me articulate my takes on things in a way where i can take away points to integrate in my own work
i found having one whether it's on the site, or just in a random note keeping app really helps me gather my thoughts in a more consistent manner (not that they need to be tracked in order to manufacture content or anything on my end, it's just the record collector in me manifesting in a different way.)
thanks so much for the love everyone!!!! i had absolutely zero expectations when i was working on this so to have as many people respond as positively as they have is a super huge confidence booster!!!!!!
i'm in art school & have a bad habit of not practicing "the art" so in an attempt to try to get better at a what i consider my biggest weak spot (people) i wanted to do a sketch per day of giant bomb "through the years." it was a good habit to build from my perspective so i wanna do more. wanna do a second gb sheet of non editor/producer folks + friends of the site which the list currently includes rorie, dave snider, matt kessler, business dave, will/dan of the giant devcast + more. future sheet ideas also include waypoint, polygon, and the various personalities of food youtube including bon appetit, binging w/ babish, j kenji lopez alt, chef jon and mooorrrree.
don't know what more to say but thanks - turned out better than i thought it would & wanted to share
Drew is the standard upon which all interns should aspire to! Best of luck to you in the future Mr. Scanlon! Your years with Giant Bomb will hold a special place in mine and everyone else's hearts.
