With the game industry's obsession with remakes in the last 5 years, I'm shocked that Eidos Montréal hasn't tried to remake the original Deus Ex. Heck, even playing through a remastered Invisible War with a engine that isn't total trash could be fun.

I feel a similar way to others about this game. The story is solid, the world building is fantastic, the writing is great. The deckbuilding is pretty good, even though the number of status effects is a little too high. The problem is that they don't seem to work in concert with each other. The system (similar to Slay the Spire) where subsequent runs get more difficult, is at odds with the RPG/story element. I skip through the early story because I've seen it more than a couple of times before.

Overall though, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase.

This is kind of a silly question if you dismiss all responses other than staff talking about the details of their finances. You could be genuinely curious, but you're not going to get any new information here. Money is fungible, and memberships are obviously an important revenue stream for the business.

This is a bummer. I was going to buy Hitman 3 on Epic, but not if i have to pay $10 extra to rebuy the content I already had.

Tower defense games were a huge genre from that era of gaming, and one of my favorites was Gemcraft.

This is interesting.

I've played Overwatch often since it came out. I've never purchased any loot boxes and have almost all the skins and emotes, at least for the characters I play with any regularity. Plus I have 40k coins banked up in case a new skin comes out that I want.

I can understand that other people who are susceptible to gambling addiction may have a different perspective, but the only problem I have with the loot box system is that it eventually becomes boring when almost every box is full of duplicate items.

I have never heard of Portopia either. I wonder if it influenced similar playing games in the MacVenture series (Déjà Vu and Shadowgate)

They are critics because they offer meaningful commentary about the content and structure of video games. They show strong personalities in their work, but I think they would argue that with a taste-based medium like video games, talking about their preferences and experiences actually helps to inform the reader or listener about their criticism. All critics are "influencers" but not all "influencers" are critics.

FLOPS have been used for decades in the high-performance computer world. In the last 15 years, FLOPS on graphics cards have become more important with the focus on computation on the GPU. Complicated shaders and running physics on the GPU has lead to raw floating-point performance being a real concern (along with memory bandwidth). In the last gen, comparing the theoretical max FLOPS of a PS3 and a XBOX 360 is much less meaningful because the way that they are programmed to get max performance were substantially different. In the current gen, the architectures are so similar that theoretical performance numbers like the ones Microsoft and Sony are reporting are a pretty good rough measure of peak actual performance.
