@justicejanitor: On top of losing to Hbox, Mango really dropped the ball in that last match. His first 3 deaths were totally preventable, and I can see why he would've been frustrated

I wanted to see Plup make it to the finals so damn bad... meh. Then I wanted Hbox to pull off the impossible, but he never had a chance even if he got the reset. tired of seeing Armada win

I'm just bumping the topic to say I'm out of town this past week and until saturday, but once I get home I'm gonna start the director's edition and have stuff to add.

Prime 1 was easily the best. I like two more than 3 only because 3 felt really easy and way more linear and that's not what I want in a Metroid game. One is better than two because two slows down too much for my liking and the dark world felt more frustrating than anything else.

Typically what I get even though I rushed it this time. I get that these tests aren't necessarily perfect, but I don't put much stock in what my personality type is anyway. It's just for kicks at this point

I'm in. I got a lot more free time these days than I should so assuming I can find the game in question, participation shouldn't be an issue.

Bad checkpoints. Y'all have already covered this.

Bullet sponge enemies for enhanced "difficulty." Really pissed me off in the Tomb Raider reboot and kinda soured me on the whole experience. Also...

Quick time events that instantly kill you. Again, Tomb Raider is extremely guilty of this and all of the huge spectacles to get you from point A to point B took away from the game, especially when I jumped at the last moment like I'm supposed to and Lara fails to grab the edge for no good reason.

Games that don't checkpoint/have a continue system and rely on you saving as a checkpoint. This isn't really a modern problem, but as a kid I never saved on my own unless there were save points on the map (think Final Fantasy), the game asked if I wanted to save, or if I was going to quit playing. Otherwise, I'd tank on ahead through the game and if I ran into some sort of difficulty spike such as a boss and lost, that typically meant my previous save was hours behind where I died. Dark Cloud 1&2 and Disgaea come to mind. Also I'm playing through Disgaea 3 right now, is that still the case? If so, I nearly had this happen last night.

That's all I got now but I'm sure I can think of more

I agree with just about everything in this thread, but I'm gonna precaution you against the DS Zeldas. Not A Link Between Worlds, Ocarina of Time, or Majora's Mask.

Personally speaking, I really didn't like Spirit Tracks or Phantom Hourglass no matter how much I wanted to. The controls threw me off completely and riding the train in Spirit Tracks was extremely monotonous.

Of course, this is just my opinion, but I say that as a big fan of the Zelda series. I'm sure others will disagree.
