Greetings Fellow Blood Bowl Coaches,
I have been a long time fan of the GW Blood Bowl table top game; going all the way back to the original version on that awful foam field. Needless to say, I was excited to pick up the game when it was released on the PC earlier in 2009. The game is a faithful recreation of the current “Living Rulebook” version of Blood Bowl. I played quite a bit of it on the PC and when it finally was released for the Xbox 360 I was planning to get it. I have more friends on Xbox Live who were ready to get back into Blood Bowl than I did on the PC.
So that leads me to the current state of the Xbox 360 version…it is an Unplayable Steaming Pile!!! There are no persistent leagues online, which is one of the main reasons my friends and I were excited to get Blood Bowl for the Xbox 360. Far worse than that is the fact that you can not advance/upgrade/level up your team through online matches. So again, why would you bother to play on Xbox Live if none of the SSPs carry over from game to game? This is counter to the very point of the table top game, and something that was a full feature of the PC version. What the hell happened?!?!
*Deep Breath* Anyway, it looks like there might be solution on the not too distant horizon. This post from February 3rd comes from SeleniA on the official Blood Bowl Game forums. SeleniA is a Focus Home Interactive representative so this has some credibility. I’m keeping my fingers crossed since I really want to like this game!!!
“Dear Coaches!
Due to your overwhelming response, we owe you some explanations on the various projects underway for the 360 version.
The Dark Elves as you already know are planned for the Xbox 360 and have recently been approved by GW. They will soon be available for 320 MS points (end of febuary). As already explained, it is not possible to offer this type of free DLC for Xbox 360. We did our best to submit the best possible price on the Xbox Live.
Also note that a "Title Update" is scheduled for the Xbox 360, but we prefer to not currently disclose its contents as it still has to be approved by Microsoft. Therefore we will detail its contents once it is validated and the chances of changes will be the lowest. According to the schedule and without major problems, this Update Title should be available in late February.
We will give you more information as soon as we can.”
