@milkman: So you are ok with publications outing people? I'm not talking about the legality of outing someone or possible perceived damages that may cause but personally are you ok with the practice of going through someone's life and outing them to the world?
@milkman: I'd argue it was justified with what Gawker did to him. This is not some slippery slope effect and all of a sudden legitimate publications will be destroyed for disagreeing with powerful figures. This Gawker case is not a hill you should die on.
Despite agreeing with all your points I just added onto my subscription with the recent sale. The site has become like Netflix for me, I continue to pay for it, pop my head in every so often and then leave for a couple weeks.
The "unprofessional" appeal of Unprofessional Friday has bled into other content on the site and it's just not appealing to me. Maybe I've changed but I want a little more prep and polish when it comes to information and content on the site.
It's Halo. It will play like Halo. It will tell a story in the vain of previous Halo games. It will look like Halo etc. Along with this is the typical Halo hype machine that comes out of Microsoft. I'm not really surprised and neither should anyone else.
