I'm fine with the combination of those two criteria needed to allow a page for a remake to be made. Although the "new mechanic" is perhaps a bit too strict. Sometimes having the mechanics of the old games streamlined and revamped changes a lot already.

• Resident Evil (GameCube) (allowed)
  
• Pokemon Heart/Soul
• Metroid Prime Trilogy (not really a remake but a triple pack of games with unique hud achievements and whatnot)
  
• Metroid Zero Mission (allowed)
  
• Persona PSP (not sure here, it does add a lot but the game is not remade)
  
• Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (ehhh not sure, it is a down port with some added features)
  
• Final Fantasy III DS (allowed)
  
• Final Fantasy IV DS (allowed)
  
• Super Mario Bros. Deluxe
• Perfect Dark XBLA (rejected, it is an enhanced port)
  
• Prince of Persia Classic (allowed)
  

I would like them to change colour myself. At least so that it adds some flair to the forums.

It is only the worst-case scenario of this news that disappoints me: Nintendo forcing developers to only release games that are also playable with the 3D effect turned off. "

Well then you're argument's even weaker.  One is a third-person shooter with bullet time that involves bouncing around a New York City-based environment and mowing down enemies without the need of a cover system that you view from behind the character.  The other is a third-person shooter with bullet time that involves bouncing around a New York City-based environment and mowing down enemies without the need of a cover system... that you view from an isometric perspective.  That's hardly "different gameplay."
