Batman is pure fun from start to finish. 0

Batman Arkham Asylum is one of the few licensed super hero games that does justice to the hero it is representing. What makes it great? For starters, the game has a great story that fits perfectly with the batman world. Secondly, it has the great atmospheric music and voice talent from the Batman cartoon series (this means recognizable voices for the characters in the game and good delivery of script lines). Lastly, combat mechanic and implementation of all things batman (gadgets at your dispos...

Short game experience but worth replaying. 0

It’s a good game at a good price, go buy it. Thanks for reading the review.     Seriously though, Shatter is what I consider the evolution of a traditional brick-breaker game. You control a ship that has a shield that works as a paddle and ammo in the form of ricochet cannon balls. You move through a variety of levels, each with multiple sub-stages and a boss fight at the end of each level. What makes this game unique are its suck and blow mechanic, electric shield, and power-up weapon. The suc...

May not hold your attention for long, but it's still fun. 0

Rag Doll Kung Fu:  Fist of Plastic is a remake of sorts of the PC Rag Doll Kung Fu. I’m almost sure you could play the original game online. This one on the other hand can only be played locally. One can only hope the developers will bring online multiplayer as a patch in the near future. Anyway, the game has four modes; deathmatch, king of the hill, capture the fish, and dodge ball. All but capture the fish can be assigned three AI opponents in the case you don’t want to wait for real people to...

A good addition to the Resistance universe. 0

Resistance Retribution takes place a few weeks after the events of Resistance Fall of Man. You play the role of Grayson, a British ex-Marine swearing revenge on the Chimera after they had turned his brother into one of them. Throughout the story you’ll meet up with new characters and familiar ones hinted at or actually present in the PS3 games. The bad news here is that Grayson’s story does not link directly to that of Hale (the protagonist in RFOM & R2). The good news is that it is the best...

WTF? ...wait, I kinda like this thing! 1

Can I review something that is not really a game?  Well, I'm being charged for it, so I guess that’s a yes. I found myself purchasing this demoscene (unlike the other demoscenes I’ve heard about, this one is interactive) from PSN for about $2.99. So, the first thing I did was just watch the thing and then I interacted with it. Before I continue I have to say that although I enjoy art, I have little cultured in said area. Asa  demoscene, Linger in Shadows almost seems to offer an epoch of an al...

Futuristic racing fun, at a great price! 0

WipEout HD is a remake of sorts of some of the tracks from Pure and Pulse. So, if you have played those games before you are not going to see anything new per se. You will however, see these tracks in a new light (redone specifically for the PS3). It is without a doubt a very good looking game. Highly stylized-futuristic vive of the game has never looked better (that just doesn’t go for the tracks and vehicles, but for the menu system as well). WipEout is all about speed and choosing whether you...

Simple, artistic, and engaging gameplay with Pixeljunk Eden 0

I wasn't a fan of Racer and slightly enjoyed monsters, but Eden has definitely gotten my attention. The jumping and diving mechanic (triggered by the moving the control down) were immediately frustrating.  I kept falling short of my targets or overshooting. What became more frustrating was that I was running out of time.  However, I began to get the hangs of things right after getting the first spectra and things have gone rather smoothly.  Admittedly I am on stage 7 but so far I’m enjoying the ...
