Games that took over long periods of my life

Each of these games were more than games.  They were more like addictions.  I devoted so much time to these games that they would find their way into my every waking moment of free time, and even into my dreams.  My name is Jesky, and I was addicted to these games.

List items

  • Those first steps into a 3D world are steps I'll never forget...also, I'll never forget running around in a circle for about ten minutes thinking it couldn't be real.

  • Even after 500+ hours, I still didn't defeat the Emerald and Ruby Weapons

  • "Practicing" martial arts for hours, and hours, and hours...

  • The best thing to come out of my addiction to this game was that I saw the sunrise for about 2 weeks straight...my time spent with Kingdom Hearts was beautifully, tragically, spiritual

  • Sailing...forever. Never before or again have I actually progressed from point A to point B in a game while simultaneously preparing and eating a sandwich.

  • This is the only game that I didn't obsess over while only at my house or alone. I played this at every friend's house I visited for about a year.

  • I actually bought an XBOX and this game, played it for a couple of weeks, and then sold them both back to GameSpot.

  • This became an obsession: just one more game; just one more level.

  • This was one of the few games that became an obsession that I carried from home to the arcade...those Tekken folks must have made a butt load of money off of me.

  • From DreamCast to the Arcade, I was a master at this game. It was more like I was the one, the game was the Matrix, and the game moved around me rather than me controlling the game.

  • "Here I am/ Doin' everything I can/ Holdin' on to what I am/ Pretendin' I'm a superman."

Yes, I remember all of the lyrics on this game's soundtrack.
