Hello, readers! What you have on your monitors is my top 10 games. There were some notable titles I didn't get to play as much as I wanted to before I made this list (Super Mario Galaxy and Mass Effect 2 being the biggest). But that's due to being a poor-ass college student. If I need to make changes later, hopefully I can (I've never made one of these). Still, I hope you enjoy!
Not only the most important game of this year, but probably of this generation. Of course this is number 1. It's fun to just build stuff and work with others to build crazy structures. This game captures the childhood feeling of building with blocks. The game also has surprising atmosphere, with how it can bring tension to the player as he thinks "What is in the dark?" or "Where is that hissing sound com-*BOOOOOOOOOM!*" Along with those reasons, and how much Notch works to satisfy the communities needs, it is easily my game of the year.
Fun (but frustrating) platforming. Amazing style and one of the funniest games in recent history. An absolute blast to play (until you break a controller in anger).
Basically GTA IV with horses. But the game doesn't feel as stale as that sounds. Fun shooting, captivating story, and stellar multiplayer.
Atmosphere is the key here. Those guys at Frictional Games sure do know how to make gamers collectively soil their pants.
Crack on your iOS device. If you care much about games, you'll love this one. Best iOS game out now.
Another fun (but frustrating) platformer with great retro styling.
Back on the PC, it was great. But this is a perfect fit for WiiWare. Easily the best game on there, due to it's fast paced mix of shooting/platforming along with an engrossing story.
Same old Civilization that everyone loves. Just like Civ IV, it'll make you go "...maybe one more turn."
Single player was alright. But where this game really shines is multiplayer.
Just a sports game that is a total blast to play.
