Lexicon by Max Barry. Great story. Also would recommend Company by him if you've ever worked in a boring corporate job. Jennifer Government is also pretty good.
I also re-read Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk which is possibly one of my favorite books.
@airickson: In response to the threads from @ares42 and @extintor I can see where they are coming from, but for a slightly different perspective, I'm really enjoying this game. This is my first survival / scavenge game, and the style, music, and game play are keeping me going. I see myself playing and enjoying this for some time.
More directly to your question, there is a story mode to reach a final destination, keeping you going down the river, but there is an Endless mode as well.
It's not really about getting the people to switch over. You don't switch eco-systems for that kinda thing. It's for the people already on the system, and getting them to not switch back. Same reason Coke and McDonald's advertise. Everyone knows who the hell they are, but they advertise so the people who buy their products are reinforced with their decisions.
That said, I have a Surface and WP8 and I love both of them. Cross platform play for my Galactic Reign and Skulls of the Shogun is marvelous.
Not surprising that they took the video down from what I am reading about it. Is there another link that is still alive so I can see for myself why I am not going to buy this?
Maybe they should have kept around Activision Value and thrown this up bundled with Soldier of Fortune 2.
@TheSlothKing: Well, the whole reason I really brought it up, is that at work Giant Bomb is blocked, but Reddit is not. I find myself on Reddit quite a bit during the day, scoping the headlines in /r/GamingNews, reading interesting stuff in /r/AskScience and finding out what's new in my town in /r/Charleston. Since I can get there and not here, I was just hoping we could us /r/GiantBomb for something.
Dragon Age is a lot of fun, but I think Civ V has more replay value. If you're asking which to get, I am assuming that you, for one reason or another, don't have the cash, so I think you'd get the most bang for your buck with Civ V. Enjoy. Whatever you get, they're both great.
Just wanted to say thank you to all of you who help with posting hints for quests. I like to figure them out on my own, but sometimes, it comes out of left field and I think down the completely wrong path.
