I didn't realize today was the anniversary of Warren's introduction into the Giant Bomb canon. Happy anniversary, our spinning drop kicking warrior! #PushWarren

I'm always surprised that they don't know about the VRC6 chip in Akumajou Densetsu.

I feel like that would be something Jeff would know off the top of his head if he could've stayed for CV3. It's also worth noting that the Famicom Konami games with custom graphics/sound chips won't work well on US NESes (I've never tried it myself, but I've heard of people trying them and the games looking/sounding like trash).

While we're on the topic of NES soundtracks, the unfinished prototype for the NES version of SimCity that was originally supposed to come out alongside the SNES port (which was a launch title for the SNES) has a pretty nice soundtrack as well. The songs are mostly different from the SNES OST (I think Dr. Wright's theme is the most similar between the two), but the song progression is pretty similar in that it starts off really calm, and builds as your city grows. It was done by Soyo Oka, who did the SNES port's soundtrack as well as Pilotwings, Super Mario Kart, and Super Mario All-Stars' soundtracks.

The more I see/hear of Super Meat Boy Forever, the less I wish it existed. The original game was amazing (I even 100%ed it on the 360 because it was that good), and the didn't hear of Forever until the Nintendo Indies Direct (I didn't know it was in production since 2014 or whenever until a Bombcast a few weeks ago). I was hoping it'd be more of the same with extras. It's also a shame it can't run properly on a 2080 since I feel like that can run games way more graphic intensive than something like Super Meat Boy.

The more I think about it, the more I wish this game ended up as vaporware since, like I said, the original game was amazing and I don't think needed a sequel unless it was more of the same with extras.

I hope the rest of Going Rogue ends like this one did. It totally made up for (spoiler even though some of you guys already gave away the end of the run) Ben dying in less than 5 minutes AGAIN.

RIP to Benjamin Pack. At least Sephiroth's Masamune gave you a quick and painless death. :'(

This seems like it'll be a great series since Rogue and NetHack (the first real popular Roguelike) aren't the easiest to get into and/or master. I've heard of people who've played for decades and still haven't beaten either one of them, even with spoiler logs that I guess are more-or-less essential to know what spells/potions do when you use/quaff them.

Also, if you guys wanna continue this past Rogue, I recommend checking out one of the Mystery Dungeon games like Shiren the Wanderer if you can. They play similar to classic Rogue, but a lot of the later ones (like the Wii Shiren game) do keep track of scrolls/potions/magic staffs when you use them between runs, so they're a little more forgiving... Also, I never did beat the Wii Shiren game because that game got pretty tough a few dungeons in even with the handicap of knowing what magic items I was picking up.

Edit: Almost forgot, whoever designed the intro deserves major props. :)
