The thing about Special Edition values and really collector value in general is that we simply don't know. Collector game value is usually based on rarity and demand. For instance the current highest valued PS3 game is another Naughty Dog special edition - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Fortune Hunter Edition. Complete in box for that is currently tracking just under $2000. I would suggest checking https://www.pricecharting.com if you're looking to sell it now (it tracks sales from other sites and creates an average value). I did some quick checking and if I really wanted to I could pick up the Ellie Edition for about $65(USD) which isn't much more than the cost of the base game so it has retained a bit of value. Maybe because it is a PAL region exclusive that'll help it in the long run, but figuring out a future value is almost impossible.
