Back from hiatus/ Fighting the addiction

Hey people long time no blogged. Been quite a busy man with my birthday, black friday, university applications and all. But yeah just posting a quick blog to talk about what I've been doing mostly :)
A friend of mine is selling his PAL equipment/games and I got most of the games so I've been playing a lot of Xbox 360 games that I had played before in a few cases on PC and that I'm just getting through slowly to properly enjoy them. Got about 25 games to go through still but I've finished 4 in the past 2 weeks, I find it pretty impressive but the length of the games is pretty short so no real kudos deserved :P
Well I finished Fable 3, Halo Reach and Call of Duty Black Ops and am getting through 6 other games in the meanwhile.

First of all Fable 3.
I've always been a fan of Fable, I haven't played Fable 2 to be honest but have played Lost Chapters on PC and had greatly enjoyed it. I knew everything about Fable 2 by watching videos all over the internet, mostly on youtube. So knowing all of that I got into Fable 3 expecting great things. What I first saw though was disappointment. Just so you know, I always install games on my HDD before starting and when Fable 3 started to lag I thought there was a problem with the disc or something but according to the almighty internet it was a bug in the game. Bad way to start but slowly the lag went away as I rushed through the game. I'm not much of a completionist myself, focusing on the story based missions and the occasional sidequests. I sometimes just come back to the game in a later date. Still, a few hours later I had finished it with what turned out to be the worst endings I've experienced in a videogame in a long time. The fact that my entire kingdom was empty discouraged me from playing after the ending so it turned out to be quite a short experience, I still plan to come back to it later for the coop parts with a friend online. Until then, Fable 3 stays a bad memory in my head.

Next I played Black Ops.
I was a big fan of the first 2 Call of Dutys on PC. Modern Warfare was fine too. Modern Warfare 2 not as much and I didn't really like World at War. So it was a total shock when I absolutely loved Black Ops. The story was great and made me want to play more, the levels were varied and fun (with the exception of the whole barrel of Napalm level). But once again this game was ruined with the horrible ending that just stopped. It was going so great until it suddenly stopped, as if the makers were in a rush and cut out an hour or more of gameplay. Nevertheless the multiplayer made up for it but the omission of spec ops was quite a let down. I never really enjoyed zombie mode that much. I got Left 4 Dead to satisfy me in that domain.

Finally I finished Halo Reach.
I always loved the Halo franchise, from the multiplayer to the single player to the books to the story... And what a great way for Bungie to end their amazing journey with this. I mean no answer is really given and it doesn't fill any real information but still I found getting attached to Spartans pretty fun and the gameplay was greatly enhanced compared to Halo 3 ODST. I would recommend this game for any FPS fans out there. Great game in every aspect but if I could have asked for anything more, it would be some more closure in the story aspects. I mean great (SPOILERS) you get to know where Cortana came from and you meet a HD version of captain Keyes (SPOILERS) nothing really worth playing the game for (story wise as I said gameplay wise its great).

I'm now playing Dead Space, Mafia 2, Crackdown 2, Vanquish and some sports games. I'm in no rush to finish any of them but I'm trying really hard to distract myself from the next topic I was going to talk about...

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

It's coming. A big wave. Addiction wave.
As you may know, or have assumed by now, I used to be a pretty big WoW fan, with 4 level 80s in the US servers and 1 80 in the EU, I've had my share of World of Warcraft. I stopped shortly after this summer due to lack of time and my own insanity/personal life. I had already pre-ordered the Collector's edition so I'm getting it on Tuesday. The problem I have is holding myself from getting the game time period renewed. I've only heard great things about the game and while I'm avoiding WoW related websites, it's starting to get more and more mentions than ever in normal videogame websites.
I'm thinking about starting again during the winter vacation so I can have a level 85 goblin but in another way, I'm tired of spending so much for one game when I have more than a dozen other just waiting for me to finish them. My account is still active at the moment because I had bought a 6-month renewal last time and still haven't touched it. I'm thinking about imposing my self some type of schedule to limit my gametime but I know I won't follow it, I raid in a weekly manner and once I get the game I know I'll want to level up a new goblin, worgen and my current shaman to 85 which is really time consuming. And the problem with my personality is that once I start something I like to finish it which won't work well for WoW because I'll have to spend more than 10 hours on it per day. Anyways the 360 games I have will keep me occupied for the moment but once I finish all of them, I fear I'll go back to it.
I know I make it sound all dramatic and all and that I can just stop it, but still I have played this game for more than 5 years and have gotten pretty attached to the whole world and general and am so curious to see what the fuss is about with the new zones revamped and all.

Anyways hope everyone had a great thanksgiving and happy WoW week :)

Heya guys quick blog and question. I'm going to New York City for a week next week and was wondering if you guys had any cool places that are worth visiting videogame-wise. Of course there are all the touristic attractions but was wondering specifically for our beloved industry.

Aloha

Heya GB, I've decided to make a new blog because it has been a while :) My xbox is coming back from repairs tomorrow apparently (basing myself on the UPS estimated arrival thing) so can't wait to jump right back into MW2 and maybe get a new game. I still don't know if I should buy any new games now or just wait for March 9th for Final Fantasy XIII... I'll probably wait as I still didn't finish Bioshock 2 on PC and my subscription to WoW is still going on :s
Anyways I've been reading online that a lot of people had to wait like a month or two until they got their console back from repairs but I sent mine about 1 week ago and yeah I love the speed :P
Well cya all on the forums :)

A bit of both

Well the past few weeks I've been playing a lot of WoW, Assassin's Creed 2 and a lot of old PC games (new rig so wanted to show off new graphics) but yeah I'm at a point where I'm starting to look forward to new games, already got Mass Effect 2 on PC and spent about 13 hours in 2 days on it :)
My 360 just got the RROD so I can't really buy any new X360 games now would be too much of a tease :P
But my PC is enough for the moment with games like Bioshock 2 coming out soon I should be busy until my X360 is back and then I can start buying console games :D

Mac question

Heya guys!
I'm getting a Macbook pro soon for my upcoming college years and everything and I was wondering what games can run on it properly without using the whole 'simulating' windows thing?
Just a few AAA (or AA) games that still work on macs...
Also I was wondering if Steam worked on mac and if so can I play CoD4 (I have it on Steam) on the macbook pro?
Those questions really seem n00bish but yeah just asking...
Thanks!

Well I fulfilled one of my previous blog's game purchase...

Heya guys quick update, I just got Halo 3 ODST!
Surprisingly enough, Mediamarkt in the Netherlands sells the game for 33 euros instead of 50 or 60 euros I usually pay for new releases, maybe they weren't informed that it's not an addon pack anymore lol
Well if you live in the Netherlands or any other countries that has Medimarkt, go get your copy today! I'm off to go play some campaign, live on giantbomb users!

PS: If any of you guys feel like playing some ODST feel free to add me on live: LethalKi11ler

Long time no blogged! have been really busy lately with my IB exams and all but now I'm back in gaming :P
Been playing so many games lately but nothing really coming out as a game that can keep my attention for a while. I finished FEAR 2 and damn as great as 1st one, I loved it. I got devil survivor for DS and yeah didnt really love it, its alright I guess. I played a lot of PSP games such as the Warriors, some more DIssidia, disgaea, rock band unplugged to name a few.
O and I also got Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days but I stopped playing it because I thought I'd better wait for the english release to enjoy it more. I didn't get stuck yet but still it's too amazing to finish it in Japanese, I just know for sure that I'm going to love the english release. I'm also waiting for Scribblenauts! I can't wait just looks amazing!

So now I'm just waiting for the Beatles Rock Band to be released along with Batman Dark Asylum. I also confirmed my acquisition of a PS3, my birthday is in a few months and I'm going to be 18 so I'm getting my dream tv along with a PS3 so I'm really excited :D

Take care community and happy late Giantbomb birthday
