Then I hope Rocksteady get  Richard Epcar to do The Jokers voice. He did a good job in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe and he said he was inspired by Mark Hamill. Epcar has to be the second best Joker voice after Hamill in my opinion.

I quote myself from the other thread..Lance_McCloud said:
"The japanese name is Supa Robotto Taisen or スーパーロボット大戦 if you will... and it kind of translated into Super Robot Wars. Only  taisen is a japanese word in the original title. The reason the Original Generations games was released as Super Robot Taisen probably has more to do with that Robot Wars is a registered trademark already.

Super Robot Taisen is the name of the Original Generations games released in the US. Super Robot Taisen, or rather Supa Robotto Taisen is also how you would prognounce the title in japanese. The thing that mess up it everything is the word Taisen, because the rest of the title is in English already. It sounds much beter to have the entire title in english then two words english and one word japanese I think. Its all up to if you want to translate the title or not, and if not, you might as well use Supa Robotto instead of Super Robot, right? To me, Super Robot Taisen is some wierd middle path between two alternatives.

Another argument for using Wars is that the opening to the Original Generations anime, Break Out by JAM Project, had the words "Super Robot Wars" in it along with other English words and phrases mixed with the japanese lyrics. So the fact that the games was translated to Taisen is probably nothing more then a result of the British Robot Wars TV series. I guess the final argument would be that all fans say Super Robot Wars and never Taisen already, but I guess thats not a walid argument and more a fact, but I see no reason why this website should be different just because of a possible will to handle all cases the exact same and not look at it case by case, something that can be done with something that is not more serious then the title of a video game.

I think its a bit different with Earthbound as that series was outright renamed and has different names in different regions. Here its only a question of using the japanese name or using the English translation. The name/title as such is the same either way, but Super Robot Wars sounds much better, in my opinion.

Ugh, I don't like that idea that all."
I dont think its necessary at all, but I thought more as having it like a feature similar to that seen in Half Life 2 where you used the buggy or hooverbike (or whatever it was called again) as transport, and not mix it with the regular game play content to much. The main reason I would like to see it  is because the vehicles, and in particular the mechs are an interesting part of any sci-fi story, and Deus Ex already showed them being important to the setting given as well, just not to the game play.

I'm really looking forward to this game. Mainly for the appearance of Gundam X and Overman King Gainer as those are two great series that need more attention like this (although both were in ACE 3) Aside from that, I didnt like SEED Destiny or Eureka Seven at all, but it will be nice to the the mecha from the first of those two games, and the music form the second anyways. And although Gravion is a generic show, its kind of cool, has great music and the new concept of only allowing you to use it for three turns make me hope it will be really strong. Nothing else really grabs me though. Either because the series are great but have been in so many game, or because I personally don't know the anime or find them that interesting.

There are plenty of other series that could be included (and I'm not going to say Gundam 00 or Gurren Lagann, because I know they will be in a SRW games... but not yet for a few years). I was really hoping for Godannar for example, a really great anime, but vastly overlooked. It was in Scramble Commander after all, use it again please. Full Metal Panic is another favorite of mine that so far only have been on portable SRW games and could be really cool in a game like this with more impressive graphics. And getter Robo is here, but not in its latest installment of New Getter Robo or even the manga Getter Robo Hien. As for older series they could include, why not Dragonar and GoShogun?

Although this game isn't even out yet, I'm almost looking forward to what the next SRW game will feature more so then the release of this game. Only a few series and their stories and battle animations appeal to me, but there are many new series that isn't in the game for one or another reason. Then a gain, I will get Gundam X and King Gainer, so i should just shut my mouth and go live in a cave I guess. I'm not really complaining though, I was mostly just hoping for different content. although I have to say its nice they try to add old and new content though.

The reason the Original Generations games was released as Super Robot Taisen probably has more to do with that Robot Wars is a registered trademark already. Its why I named the first DS game in the series as Super Robot Wars W on this website.

Either works fine though I believe, only most people and other places use Wars I think so i would vote for hat.

Thats what this recent trailer is commonly referred to, although its more or less a general trailer with a catchy japanese theme song. If you haven't seen it already:
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/37702.html

I haven't had much interest in Bionic Commando or Rearmed, but regardless, this trailer is awesome for an anime geek like me. The music is great, song by none other then the great Hironobu Kageyama and the trailer show you you some good gameplay.

Whats your thoughts on the trailer, and on this type of marketing in general? I would love to hear from people that are interested in the game, but aren't generally into anime or japanese music. I think its great they made something like this for the japanese market as a promotion, but with my small Bionic Commando knowledge I have no idea if this make any sense or is more or less insane based on the property in general. It made me interested in the game more so the I was before anyways.

Deus Ex is still today one of my favorite games of all time, and I really disliked the second game to a level where I gave up after about three hours (something that is rare for me), but I'm really interested in DX3. The main reason for this is the short teaser trailer they released for it. The music sent tingles down my spine and it sounds that they want to go back to the first game and learned form the second games huge flaws.

I still think things could be changed, but what I want to remain is the same type of well written story narrative we saw in the first game. The second is the ability to play the game your way, as a ninja, through total pacifism or like your Duke Nukem. And they need to keep the atmosphere and the continuity of the first game intact hopefully. But I hope they add things we have seen in other modern games as change isn't a bad thing. Fix the physics engine ideas they tried to use in the second game as that would allow you to make use of the strength increasing bio-aug for example and add new weapons to take advantage of new hardware (not necessary by copying Half Life 2). And something less important that i would like to see but wouldn't be a big deal would be to add usable vehicles like mecha and helicopters for example.

The game has a few flaws, and had some even when it was released. The AI isn't that good, graphics aren't all that great and some other, often minor things. But this is one of those games that manage to let you follow an complex and detailed plot with many twists and turns, and still allow you to play the game any way your want, and have that reflect in some things that happen later on. The gameplay is still great and entertaining, and the fact that all voices are recorded and compressed on one CD was really impressive back in the day.

Its a classic, that maybe didnt age as well as some games and even had flaws back when it was released, but I'd say that the story and fun gameplay makes it worth giving a try if you think it sounds interesting at all.

Regardless, I have to say that the Pyro has to be my fav class in the game.
