I'm willing to take my chances, as I know that it's working perfectly fine for the majority of people. I've got a pretty good setup and have seen a lot of the complaints people (including Jeff) are having about performance/other issues, but worst case scenario is that I have to wait for a patch or two. I pre-ordered this morning so I could have my download ready at launch, so at this point I'm along for the ride no matter what.

I shouldn't actually have said "many people" when i look at it a bit closer it's just your regular vocal minority thing happening, i was unluckily one of the ones affected so it felt worse than it really is.
So yeah your chances of actually getting the more serious issues is pretty low actually.
And hopefully patches are right around the corner.
Been playing on PC since last Thursday. With some tinkering, it runs pretty much flawlessly.
If you just let dynamic optimization do its thing and leave stuff at recommended settings, you end up with the stuttery mess that the Quick Look had, even on a 1080, etc.
Here's a quick guide for anyone interested;
- Add FH3 to the NVIDIA control panel under "Manage 3D settings", set "power management mode" to "prefer maximum performance", hit apply.
- Once in-game, disable "dynamic optimization" from the video settings page.
- Set your preferred resolution, enable v-sync and framerate smoothing.
Now you can adjust the settings under the "advanced" tab until you reach and maintain the framerate you'd like. Heavy hitters with little visual impact, before any patches were rolled out, was AFx16 (for some reason), shadows and motion blur quality.
When you're happy with the framerate and image quality, you lock the framerate to the closest number from the main video tab.
You'll still see some, in my opinion, unjustified framerate drops, and the larger cities seems to tank all setups to around 30-40. But it shouldn't be a stuttering mess anymore. Good luck!
Oh, and the game is amazing.
