Just a reminder to @alex crewmembers have more to say than just the first line. Usually they have 2-3 lines before they just keep repeating "Commander." or other lines like that.
@demigodraven: I don't think that was a bug. Tali/Mordin are the squad members most likely to die if you take too long in the final boss fight and don't have them in your active party.
Also to reiterate my comments from the previous video, Tali is a big part of an arc in 3, and is one of the few squad members you get in the reduced squad size in 3.
In addition, a thing to remember about ME2 and 3 is that they are cover-based shooters, which is why you were getting fucked up in those two fights in Arrival standing out in the open. You did significantly better in the "stand your ground at the Reaper object" when you were using cover. If you want to stand out in the open, I recommend either playing Vanguard or Infiltrator, as Vanguard is all about charging around shotgunning people at close range, while Infiltrator has a cloak to get out of dodge when things start going badly (also I believe Infiltrators have the highest weapon damage modifiers in the game).
@dan_citi: He does, actually have the DLC. He's just never cycled through them, he stopped at the loyalty appearances. He used Garrus' unbroken armour appearance for a while until getting the loyalty armour.
@milkman: It benefits no one to have Alex’s experience diminished by an easily rectifiable mistake. I’ve seen a lot of ME playthroughs but I haven’t seen Alex’s, and it’d be a bummer if he didn’t get to enjoy it to the fullest just so he could satisfy some weird fixation on purity of choice that I don’t know if he really even cares about.
It’s his call. And whatever he does I’ll watch.
This is basically how I feel, as someone who has played a shitload of Mass Effect. I'm not watching this for the pure run, I'm watching it for Alex's reactions to the plot, and not having Tali around for 3 is a huge bummer to me, in terms of shit that happens.
@dezinus: I believe the third option in that arc becomes unavailable if either party member dies/is not loyal.
@feckless: I mean, all of Zaeed's stories are about how he was the only survivor of whatever thing he was doing at that point, so maaaaaybe not the best leadership material.
@curiosus: I've definitely done Tali's and Legion's loyalty missions back-to-back with both of them in the party with everyone living. Not sure if the crew got taken in-between the missions, however.
@reaveybeach: I understand where you're coming from, though I also understand the others' feelings on the matter, as she is one of your party in 3. I also think something may not be possible without her, but I can't remember and would still be willing to see it without her around.
@epidehl: IIRC Miranda is actually a bad choice for the biotic part, despite her saying she can do it. She is a capable team leader though.
It has been a while since I played, but I think it was Tali/Legion/Kasumi for tech specialist, Garrus/Jacob/Miranda for team leader, and Jack/Samara/Morinth for biotic specialist.
