Games I Crave Fortnightly

Folks say my job kicks ass, and sure, it has its perks relative to say, street sweeping or working at Dunkin' Donuts (well, ok, the Deeznuts near work does feature two wicked hot Brazilian girls, which is two more than Play Hard Sports, but you get the point.)..wait..what was I saying? Oh yeah, it has it's perks, but any time you manage to make your hobby your job, it becomes more difficult to enage in that hobby for fun. As such, I tend to reserve excitement for games hat really move me. This is my list of titles I hope fall in that category. Games that, if the game gods love me, will not suck.

List items

  • I don't think there's a bigger title on the 2008 slate, honestly. Sure, other games will sell better (Gears, Anything with an instrument for a controller) and other games will probably be more fun (Fallout, Castle Crashers, Left 4 Dead) but past those and about a dozen others that spring to mind, I get the feeling that nothing will be more interesting and rewarding than this one. Can't wait.

  • So when I was sitting on my ass in Florida for about 3 months, I wore Oblivion out. It was pretty solid, save the shitty menu system and the systematically imposed pointlessness of character advancement. Obviously, you hope that Fallout fixes those issues and adds in a healthy helping of hallelujah, as a cyberpunk RPG in a big, scary post-nuclear world gets me all sorts of hot in the pants. Which is good, because I need something to counteract the absolute buzz-kill that is the game's lack of online co-op. Come on, Bethesda! OK, so getting off the soapbox..I am really excited to play this. The old ones rocked, and the team knows how to make an RPG. Should be fun.

  • I must have pitched this idea a dozen times over the past 3 years, not just because it's the type of game I'd love to make, but because it's the type of game I want to play. The fact that Valve has stepped in to help give the game a stage and a proven development pipeline only makes the anticipation stronger. If you're on Xbox Live, get at me when this drops...I will be killin' some zombies fo' sho'.
