Some games come with a disc for content. That content is always DRM-free, code free and can be used on any account. There are exceptions though. 
 
Forza 3 Ultimate Edition has car and track packs on the disc, which can be shared around. But its Top Gear DLC comes with only a code that can only be redeemed once and only on one account. 
 
Borderlands GOTY comes with a disc and codes for all DLC. Some editions only come with a code though, and others only with a disc. It's odd.

There is stuff happening and sure it gets a bit more cohesive in Acts 2 and 3... but is any of that a real substitute for the lack of a strong narrative backbone of any kind? Unless future games put DA2's events into a better context than this game itself implies I have to wonder...

It's encouraging to see so many people defending this game. I'm one of the haters but seeing this makes me hope there's just something I'm missing.

Things like the Dragon Age 2 free upgrade to Signature Edition with preorders would get me to. Blazblue did it as well. It'd have to be some decent added value else I'd just turn up whenever and take my chances.

I think you hit the nail on the head here Blannir. If this was a sub-series or spinoff or the like... Dragon Age Champion (I'm thinking along the lines of what Unreal Championship was to Unreal Tournament) a lot of people's issues with this game would have been diffused. 
 
But it's not all about the combat. There was a marked drop in production value - art design, storytelling, quantity of content - between DAO and DA2 that I think would have been easier to swallow if this game were marketed differently. As it stands the direct comparison will just leave a lot of people preferring the first game in hindsight. While I do plan on soldiering on to the end of DA2, I'll still probably count myself among them.

Yeh, it could be worse. We could be facing an imminent Ice Age- the Earth has seen its fair share of those over its lifetime.

Ironically everyone will forget you now that you came out so premature. Daddy should have probably kept his woman off the dope during gestation too... that might've helped.
