My Favorite games of 2010

  • 30 minutes into this game I was beyond frustrated and seriously considered taking it out of my system and selling it because of its impenetrable battle system. 131 hours later I was frustrated that there was nothing left for me to do. The extremely deep battle system, the insane characters you encounter throughout the game, and the interesting twist on the world map makes for an incredible game. My one disappointment is that the ending left me with more questions than answers but I’m really looking forward to the continuation of the story.

  • The vast combat and inventory improvements over the first game and the quality of just about every character make this a great gaming experience.

  • I don’t remember the last RTS game I played because they have all been so similar for so long but I was absolutely blown away by Starcraft. Unlike most of the people it was the single player campaign that interested me and the ending just left me wanting more but at the same time wrapped the game.

  • My expectations for this game weren’t very high but I was pleasantly surprised by how good this game was. While the three separate stories take place at the same time, the different perspectives come together nicely at the end and it adds a great deal to the Kingdom Hearts fiction.

  • No game I played this year made me lose track of time like Civ V. Even with all of the issues with steam achievements not triggering and the ease of the AI when it first came out I couldn’t get enough.

  • This game is such a bastard but I can’t help but love it.

  • I think Read Dead is a fantastic game but my own dislike towards westerns held it back for me. I really liked a lot of the characters in the game but by the end most of those characters had either been shot in head or raped. What really made the game stand out was how many different things that can be encountered just out in the open which really gave that world life as well as one of the best endings to a game I’ve seen.

  • I never thought I would enjoy another PAC-MAN game but the additions of bombs and bullet time as well as how satisfying it is to eat a huge ghost train make it a great game even if it didn’t last for very long.

  • A great little game that is strangely satisfying and very entertaining to play with someone else.

  • The most adorable game I’ve ever played and while not very hard it can become a little frustrating to play with a girlfriend that doesn’t play a lot of games.
