I had the same thing going on, after last message from "sdornan" I got my hopes up. Indeed the timestamps where back and the order was like it suposed to be, even the twitter functionality worked. But for some reason still no tracking of the achievements and I had to re-add my account again today (345486ed time). sigh*

After Jeff's message I left it alone for a while in the hope I would be surprised one day. But unfortunately till this day... no surprise. Hope it will work soon with the shitload of games that's being released.

@Anathem: You put it well in the end of your post. I also know you get further with reason here on GB. And since I consider this a serious issue I hoped to get more effect taking it the polite way. I never seen the use of ranting on end or spiting guts out on the internet cause of the problems that mostly lies in personal life anyway. But it's nice to get some back-up with it so thanks for that. Just hope to see some clarification soon. And the WoW-achievements indeed also give an good idea of the extend of this issue.

That's indeed another thing I was thinking about. Maybe they're implementing new stuff and don't want to ruin the surprise. Then again. I indeed also don't see why they wouldn't let the existing stuff work first. But hey, I'm no techy like I said and maybe are talking ilogic jibberjabber now. Even then, I return to the fact that some more info then what Jeff gave in this thread more than 2 months ago would be nice.

But hey, maybe they ARE enhancing the feature beyond believe. That way we'll once forget the feature first never worked before becoming amazing... or that's at least what I sometimes like to believe when I doze off....

Here's the thing. After having posted here a while ago some stuff happened. First of all after deleting and adding my account a couple of times with indeed also getting the same message here and there that the account would be private. I went over to xbox-site to "re-set all the settings". Returned to Giant Bomb to add my account again and all of a sudden it took a long time for the account to be added. And indeed after it was added and I waited a day surely enough the achievements started updating daily again. Unfortunately the joy didn't last long and after 3 days of Gears of War 3 achievement-updates it all of a sudden stopped updating.

Now I'm no expert on this tech-stuff but what II do know is as far I could see there isn't much response from some1 "behind the scene" except a quote a user put down earlier in here about Jeff mentioning the techies where working on something else which is a while ago. But further on I heard or seen nothing about it. And I of course understand things can be busy with a great site like this one. But by the looks of things there are many users missing "the achievement-feature" (including me). And when I decided to support my favorite site on the web financially I had the feature working. Now I'm not saying that the feature is essential to my support cause it isn't. But feeling left out in the cold on this matter is a different thing all together. Just some clarification on what's going on would really brighten up my day. Even if it means we still have to wait months before it will work. Cause now I don't even know if it will ever work again.

Anyway, I didn't mean to offend or rant in any way or form. Just wanted to express that I don't see this feature as some useless addition to the site and that I AM missing it very much. Cause yes, I'm an achievement-whore and like to share with friends when I "whored out" and received some achievements for it, especially when it's on the best site around. All I hope is for some sign of life on this matter, that would be very much appreciated. TIll that day I guess I'm stuck trying to add and delete my account till it one day sticks :)

For some reason my achievements still don't update. I have no idea if it is since I haven't posted in this threat. But if there's a list of users that have trouble getting their achievements updated, please add me to that.

Same here. I noticed the problem long time ago and decided to check on my side if everything was set-up correctly, which it is. Removed and added the accounts a few times and indeed still got the "profile is private" message a few times whereafter it would accept it when trying again. Now the account are indeed added but are not updating and is not able to put the played games and received achievements in order.

I really like the feature and hope this problem can be resolved some time soon. Or at least some info on what the problem could be / is.

Nintendo has been trying to shove peripherals down our throats since the beginning, it just never got ground. Now since the Wii has been released they've realized their time of endless release of peripherals and new models has finally come and they'll be damned if they didn't abuse that fact.

Wouldn't mind some "like's" or "dislike's" for my reviews, so if anybody is willing to give a hand with that. I'm sure I can return the favor, if not now than surely later.
