I noticed that as of a couple of weeks ago my automated GB video downloads stopped working, and I just realised why: giantbomb.redvideo.redventures.io is being blocked by a common pi-hole deny list:
I've added an explicit allow entry for giantbomb.redvideo.redventures.io and giantbomb-development.redvideo.redventures.io and normal service has resumed. Hope this helps :)
Been subscribed for 10 years now I think. I still love it. The new Jeff Triumvirate has a strong nonsensical vibe that I thoroughly enjoy. Sometimes they don't like things that I like, but that's fine, if they were exactly the same as me that would be weird. I don't need a podcast to validate my choices, I need it to entertain me: and all the GB staff are thoroughly entertaining ❤
Given the great diversification GB's content has undergone recently, I can't see a lot of evidence for a negative/conservative vibe to things. I hope to be here enjoying vast swathes of nonsense for a long time :)
Now if you'll excuse me, I've gotta go flush a pie down the toilet.
Watching my way through the GB back catalog and noticed a couple of trailer videos are broken (Looks like the files are corrupt? Even downloading the videos to play in VLC doesn't work)
I'm also noticing the audio/video sync is kind of screwed recently. Audio seems to slowly creep ahead of video, this is especially noticeable when watching Metal Gear Scanlon.
I'm using the HTML5 player, usually "enbiggened" on separate monitor. Flash player does not have this issue but instead munches a lot of CPU for video decode/scaling.
I've been slowly watching my way through the entire GB video back catalog (It's taken about 2 years so far). I'm slowly catching up: I'm at about January of this year atm. Spelunkin' with scoops seriously grates after a while, although a quick look at "latest" indicates that it doesn't exist anymore, so the future is bright. Everything else is pretty great though. :)
