All reviewsYou Don't Know Jack2011
3 out of 5 starsYou Don't Know Jack has been around for a long time, but has been absent in modern console generation until now. Jellyvision, famous for their hit-or-miss trivia cavalcade, has brought us seven hundred and thirty questions ripe for the answering. Jack Attack!: Potent trivia knowledge required, or it'll ruin just about everything for you. The gameplay here is standard fair for YDKJ fan, with Cookie Masterson…
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Decade Duels2010
3 out of 5 starsYu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Decade Duels is the first YGO game available on the 360, and the second card-based XBLA title to be released. Promising a comprehensive catalog of cards and online play, there was plenty to get excited about. Get used to the preliminary bracket. You'll be seeing it a lot. Decade Duels offers some of the best gameplay of a Yu-Gi-Oh! title in its duel system. It feels a lot faster than some of the…
Final Fantasy XIII2010
2 out of 5 starsFinal Fantasy XIII , according to developer Square Enix , was the most anticipated title of all time. And, in a lot of ways, it was supposed to be. FFXIII is arguably the largest JRPG title on the Xbox 360, and the Final Fantasy franchise has obtained a certain level of prestige over the years. This was supposed to do for RPGs of this generation that Final Fantasy VII did years prior for the original PlayStation.…
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES2007
5 out of 5 starsPersona 3 wasn’t even on my radar back in 2008 when it was released. My PS2 had been thoroughly caked in dust for months due to an exponentially worsening disc laser. In the summer of 2009, two friends had told me that they’d purchased this relatively unknown JRPG for $8.99. Needless to say, because the price was right and I’d have people to talk to about this older title, I picked it up along with Persona 4 . Two…

All articlesYou Don't Deserve Special Retail Treatment: I Support GameStop
Sep 19, 2010
GameStop is consistently thrown to the wolves around here. I still have yet to see what the big, overlying problem is with their establishment. Here’s the most common ‘offenses’ I seem to read over and over. GameStop Employees I have never in my life seen a business criticized over and over for trying to move product. All of those complaining have a problem with employees pushing pre-orders, us...
THQ Shouldn't Care About the Used Game Consumer
Aug 25, 2010
I'm not going to post this to the forums, because I'm sure everyone is sick to death of discussing it over and over. But, yes, I read PA today, and their accompanying news post , including this article. Tycho makes some really solid points about how used game consumers aren't really THQ's customers. I also spent a long time on twitter today discussing #PAgamesdialog with a lot of other concerne...
Another PS3/Mass Effect 2 Blog: Why This Isn't Good
Aug 17, 2010
Between the sixteen threads and blog posts about the Mass Effect jump to the PlayStation 3, it's clear that this is a divided issue. After marinating in the news for the better part of the day, I've decided that I see this as a poor move for the Mass Effect franchise because there is a very real possibility this will give PS3 owners who haven't played an ME title before a bad taste in their mou...
The VII Syndrome
Jun 21, 2010
A friend of mine recently posted a status on his social networking site of choice about finally playing through Final Fantasy VIII . Other than the fact he's around eleven years late to the party, the status was a porterhouse in the lion's den . Six people commented on his status within thirty minutes, all of them boasting the previous Fantasy , and desecrating the very solid, fun, and engaging...

So, with any luck, I'll be using this space more for opinion pieces on video games, since the Examiner only pays me for news .
