Computer (PC/Mac/Linux) I think my PC is boss, it's why I bought one; but my social network isn't there and there's no guarantee that when I buy something it will play well or even at all.
Mobile (iOS/Android) It's hard to make an app feel anything other than throwaway and so I can't ever justify an expenditure greater than £2. It's probably because my usage of the games is 10 minutes on the toilet and waiting for a train (up to fifteen minutes).
Handheld Console (3DS, Vita) I like my 3DS, it's pretty fun, but I have to be REALLY in the mood to play it. The best part is that when I am in the mood, I can play it almost anywhere.
Home Console (WiiU, PS3, 360) I like em, by which I mean I like my 360. When I put in a disc, it plays either immediately or near enough to. I appreciate that.
Arcade What's an arcade? You mean that place down at New Brighton with the air hockey, the time crisis and laser tag attached to the bowling alley? Or do you mean the penny gambling machines?
It was mentioned on the podcast as a runner styled game that was posed as a race; you have a certain number of lives to complete the race. You lose lives if you fail an obstacle you spawn on the other side of it. You can complete the race to move on but one of the challenges is to come first. That's all I remeber; does it ring any bells for anyone else?
@AmericanNinja I'm glad somebody got called out on their bullshit somewhat publicly. This is why the Blizzard "put your fucking real name" agenda had my vote.
@MormonWarrior: Well I was pretty damn enamoured with the N7 Jacket, too, but it doesn't reference what pie I ate last week so they should take it back and recolour it or something because they promised it would and I'm NOT JUST AN ENTITLED PRICK WHO READ TOO MUCH INTO A PRESS RELEASE.
Mass Effect "fans" still bother the fuck out of me, sorry.
I only buy more hardware if it's better than my current preferred platform and there's stuff I want to play on it. I'm saving my money for a Durango because I want to play "current generation" games.
I can live without Jar-time, honestly, because I kinda wish I hadn't re-upped in september. I love you guys and what you do, but I'm paying for features. I'm willing to donate, but if it's spun as a service, it has to serve me and it's been broken since at least then.
As an Englishman, the only thing I like more than complaining is a stiff upper lip, but the videos are SO BROKEN in the HTML5 player. There's 3 rather big ones I've noticed.
The bottom 50 pixels are a bar of vertically stretched pixels as if the video isn't properly loaded that also appears when you download the file
Audio sync is terrible; it will stop and start the video when it gets about 5 seconds out of sync but the problem just repeats, but it makes quick looks impossible to watch and Dave's chat and jartime only worthwhile as audio podcasts. (downloaded and audio stripped)
When an HTML5 video is paused for about 20+ seconds (about as long as it takes to go and open the front door) it stops buffering completely and then has to completely restart when it hits he end of it's buffer..
I've also noticed the videos loading particularly poorly making HD quality a mess. It loads about 2 seconds of content every 10 seconds. This has gone on for a while, and I know it's not my connection at fault from watching Steam download files.
That black box embedded into the page is the best trailer I've seen for anything this year! Forget all those other trailers with "images" or "sound" or "video content," this one beats them ALL!
