Just bought a new sub for the soundsystem. It's amazing how much detail was missing from my previous massively underpowered sub. By setting the crossover higher, I am allowing the loudspeakers to produce frequencies well within their range, taking a huge amount of stress off the amp and letting them relax.
In general, she likes games. She's open-minded and has a few weeks off between classes. She wants to try to "learn" a game to see what all the fuss is about. I've run her through the main genres (FPS, RTS, RPG, etc) with the triple-A titles that are good examples of the style. She seems to like a good story, RPG elements, 3rd person perspectives, and a fair amount of gunplay / puzzle solving. She doesn't want to try a game that is needlessly complicated or has a very high learning curve. No real bars to entry, just something that is intuitive, fun, yet challenges (you know, the perfect game).
I'm thinking Mass Effect 2 (slight RPG, good shooting, 3rd person) or Heavy Rain (very story-driven, good character building, and interesting control scheme).
I am in the process of figuring out how to contribute to the Bomb. I love the idea of collaborative content creation, but I never contribute to it. I'm trying to change that...
