There was a time our favorite character reached their peak, but these guys have lost it. At a point, we loved these video game characters for who they were, but because of usually bad writing or poor character development, these characters are heading straight to the dump.

Shadow the Hedgehog was a good character for his time, who only came back into the later installments of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise due to fan popularity. His greatest video game appearance comes from one of the worst Sonic games according to critics, the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog video game. In this game, he showed growth and determination, and is the game that ultimately shaped his character. Of course, the timeline erased, so he didn’t really develop at all.

Tails is by far one of the better early Sonic the Hedgehog characters, and eventually became the victim of Sonic Forces and bad writing. His best video game appearance has to come from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - he’s simple, cute, and a character people wanted to play as. He was brave and kind and was determined to help fight alongside Sonic...now it’s the complete opposite, especially with the release of Sonic Forces.
