Favorite Games of All Time

This list features my favorite games, from all platforms and  generations.

List items

  • My first Resident Evil game and not my last.

  • The pace of the game is so spectacular I just couldn't stop playing.

  • The first metal gear game where I believe all the elements blended seamlessly to create an unforgettable experience, both story and gameplay wise.

  • The first game I can remember playing. The sense of wonder and imagination present is remarkable.

  • My first experience with a Zelda title, and the sprawling world, catchy music, epic quest, and groundbreaking gameplay made it a title to remember.

  • My favorite multiplayer game of all time.

  • It took the conventions that SMB3 had setup and then made an amazingly polished and rewarding experience.

  • My first real exposure to shooting games and multiplayer, and boy how many good nights it made.

  • Metroid prime awarded those who liked to explore and adventure more than those who liked to shoot, and for that, as well as the atmospheric quality and jaw dropping art direction, it warrants a place on this list.

  • I never enjoyed RPGs much until I played Diablo 2. Both singleplayer and over battle.net I had a blast picking up loot and battling monsters.

  • I loved the large and colorful world that the game featured, and was not put off with the sailing as many were. Once you add in the mechanics that all Zelda games share, this game was spectacular.

  • Bored with kart racers and simulation racers, Burnout 3 changed my perception of what a racing game should be about. Add impressive visuals and an addicting crash mode, and you have a winner.

  • While obviously in love with the fantastic graphics like everyone else, I also found the gameplay in this sidescroller to be a ton of fun. I played through the game over and over.

  • A big skateboarding fan at the time, the game came out and showed me how all sports sims should be done. I spent countless hours trying to get all the secret tapes and find the best combo spots.

  • While it was pretty close between this and Going Commando for my favorite R&C adventure, the multiplayer and improved personality of this game made it an easy choice. The story was superb, the gameplay fun and intense, the multiplayer addicting, and the replay value was great. A Must have game on the PS2.

  • I played the crap out of this quasi 3D game back on my babysitters SNES, and boy what a joy it was to fly above flat expanses of ground hitting green lights and soaring through rings. It was one of the harder games for me at the time too.

  • My favorite story in a game ever. (Lets forget the ending). The gameplay was also superb, the graphics were beautiful and the art luminating. The quality of everything in this title just blew me away.
