...you need to redeem the code (through XBL at least) and start a new game before you will see these new items which consist of: shotgun, sniper rifle, 10k credits. I redeemed the code after a couple of hours of play and went to JC Denton's apartment (woops Adam Jenson) and the items weren't there. I'm in the second city and still no items. So I suspect you must start a new game for the items to appear.
If you're like me and forgot to redeem the code, don't worry about it. Just save it for your next playthrough. Inventory management can be a pain in the ass so if you're worried about keeping 2 "unique" items through your first playthrough it may lessen your fun factor.
a) No more Necromorphs, No more Marker. The series has blown its load with this and honestly, despite strong gameplay. Killing Necromorphs is the worst part of the franchise for me. It's old, dead, and pretty dumb now. b) More Hard Sci-fi. Give me more suits! Make me fly through space. Hell! Some of those free fall sections were the most cinematic and amazing parts of the game. c) The game needs moments of respite, rest, and quiet. DS2 is simply too intense at all times. Where is my grocery shopping sequence like in 28 Days Later? d) Don't be scared to give us lasting NPCs with more interactivity.
The Thing was fun. Penumbra has a great arctic setting. Cryostasis has a great setting also. Icewind Dale 1 & 2 have arctic settings but they're isometric RPGs. Halo 3 has an arctic level towards the end where you're fighting the Flood which is very similar to the creature from the Thing.
Insomnia is a film with a great arctic setting directed by Chris Nolan.
Red Faction is a ho-hum "franchise" the storyline is forgettable and the Mars setting is nothing special. Guerilla was fun but this is nothing to cry over. On to bigger and better games. I am damn fo sho looking forward to the new Saint's Row.
Better health system. First off, you die too easily in this game and it just plain sucks. Let me regenerate faster or take more bullets or at least have a meaningful health/armor upgrade system. Better ammo system. Can I just regenerate bullets for the hell of it? Nothing is more humiliating and annoying than grapple to a helicopter but have no bullets to shoot the passenger gunner... Better targeting/aiming. Period.
Well if it even matters, I am going to vote with my dollar. RDR never really synced with me and why I love games and after all this I'm not really interested in buying a new copy of LA Noire. Down the road I may get it used, like Red Dead. Who knows.
All controversy aside, I bet some dumbass just forgot to finalize the option to delete data. In order to reset cartridges on the DS the user practically has to complete a mystical act of Nintendo shamanism. First scour the text of the manual for proper procedure because you can never remember, contort your digits into inhumane finger pretzels to press the proper buttons, and hope it works? Why so crazy...
