Since the Xbox One will be going all digital (ala, hard disk mandatory installs), I say that No, it will not be different than steam. Modern day gaming has become social centralized (so to speak). These days, the majority of PC games that you buy are forced to have some 'online account' associated with them. I'm talking about legitimate uses here so no cracks. The old days of PC gaming are long gone. The only difference was that everything came on a physical media, and most importantly, it did not require a legitimate user to have some online account tied to the games.

That is my main gripe with modern day gaming. Everyone NEEDS to have some stupid account in order just to play their games. This of course does not include the DRM restrictions put on top of it.

Nah, not any more. My monitors just suspend after 20 minutes of inactive use.

If you got a PS2 Composite cable laying around, I believe you can run the audio using RCA. The PS3 has an audio selector within the options menu.

Also depending on which PS3 model you get... do yourself a huge favor and STAY THE HELL AWAY from the 40/60/80GB versions as the Yellow Light of Death plagues them the most.

Well... shyat. They shoulda called it the Xbox 360.1 since we will not be seeing much improvement in the resolution on the side of things. M$ apparently still finds 2005 720P resolutions acceptable.

Need For Speed. Use to really be into it. Now, not so much. Seeing as every NFS game that EA releases nowadays is a turd. The series has no soul now.

All I can say is: Fuck you Codemasters. I remember EA pulled the same crap with Need For Speed (They still do). It started from Need For Speed 6: Hot Pursuit 2. It wasn't until Shift came out, they decided to include cockpit views again. How can anyone even call it a simulation game without cockpit views? The whole point of cockpit views is so that you get the immersion which you are actually driving said vehicle. But without it, it just feels like an arcade.

I have my own monitor that I play games on. But gosh darn it, 20" is a little small for my preference. So A TV comes in handy to watch movies on. Eh... then again, some computer games throw a shit-fit and don't automatically change display resolution upon being launched when plugged into the TV. That's a little thing that I have to remember if I'm switching from a 16:10 monitor to 16:9 dumb TV.
