childhood games (birth to 10 years of age)

Many of these games had huge impact on me as a child. They inspired me as a child. They made me have promise in the games industry. All of these games I played by the age of 10 years old. These games turned my passion to the games industry.

Some crazy good games in this list.

List items

  • Many moments as my 4/5 year old self playing many hours of Sega master system. This being one of my favorite games along with outrun and afterburner.(didn't have sonic. still don't)

  • This was a game I couldnt get enough of. The music was amazing. The game was unique and fun. The art style was like nothing else ive seen and frankly it is one of the best car/racing games I have ever played.

  • many nights playing this game with the semi broken joystick my family bought at the local thrift store. Really loved it and still love that their still making games for it.

  • Some serious bonding time with me and my brother. We would play this game over and over. It was one of the few games that was multi-player we had and it was quite interesting of a game.

  • My brother really brought me into many of the amazing PC games of that time. This being one of them virtually every game (except shogo) that is considered a classic PC game was brought into my life because of my brother and his friends.

  • Could not stop playing this game. Was really amazing. My first experience into online gaming and certainly the craziest. Spent more time playing this game than many spent on world of warcraft.

  • The first M rated game I ever bought, AND WORTH EVERY PENNY! I loved this game. I played it like crazy. Just loved it, absolutely loved it.

  • A friend showed me this game and really got into it for a while. The goofiness with the good intro to a strategy game of sorts

  • GOD DAMN HARD AS HELL, but I still beat it and got most of the frogs.

  • Got it on the PC and really turned me on to open world. I loved to concept and knew as a child this would become very popular in the industry. Driver really pushed it more than games had at that time. realistic physics for cars, police that would chase you for speeding (sometimes annoyingly). Interesting story. This game hit a certain spot that hit me the right way.

  • Really good game. One of my favorate iterations of a shotgun in a game. Loved the action story. Felt it did better as a game than medal of honor with theatrics and story.

  • one of the first games I 100% to see the secret ending. Played it so much as an 8 year old.

  • This while really good, and had alot more content that crash 2, it didn't have quite the magic that crash 2 had for me.

  • Many many fun hours playing this game. Hadn't played a game like this ever and really loved the arcadeyness of it.

  • This may insult some, but I love this game better than ff7. This game really felt like a different story, really good graphics, amazing artstyle, was amazing watching my brother play it.

  • first game I ever bought. Played the arcade version with a bunch of older kids at a boys and girls club. We couldn't stop playing it. Once I saw the home version for 20 bucks, I had to have it.

  • rented it with my brother and couldn't get enough of the ridiculousness of it. I was so much fun with its non stop over the top arcadey action.

  • The late nights playing this game. I loved the art style. It really hit that pleasure button in my head. Just a really nostalgic game for me

  • rented this one on playstation and it was totally addictive. The artstyle with the sound direction really caught me as a kid.

  • This game was very good for its art style. Enjoyed it quite a bit.

  • didnt even finish the game. Thought it was really cool how theatrical it was, but it was one of the first games I got that felt 'meh its pretty good.

  • This game was one of the games I found myself loving the story. It felt very different and just really fun and creapy with all of those late nights playing this game.

  • Countless nights going through the characters over and over without saving. The game was scratched up like crazy it would take about a half hour to get it to boot.
