I don't have much a problem playing against Recon players. However, I do consider them a problem when I'm on the attacking team in Rush and the majority of my players are sniping instead of going for objectives. That gets irritating, though it doesn't happen all the time.
Rising Sun. Saw it at the theater with my Mom and Dad. I was 11 and that movie had a good amount of nudity in it. Mom got up in disgust to take me out of the theater. Dad stayed.
Does your enjoyment of a game determine whether it's crap or not?
I don't like the RTS genre. Name any popular RTS game, and I either hated it or could barely tolerate it. The biggest games aren't crap, they're just not for me. Actually, the only examples of games in the RTS genre I could stand for long at all were because of quirky gimmicks or interesting settings that encouraged me to put up with the gameplay. Maybe you're just not into shooters. It's tough to come to another conclusion.
No game is perfect. Heck, I just sold MW2 because I was sick of the online play. I recognize the merit of the game, particularly for it's fans, but it's just not for me.
I am that friend. Nice to meet you. I know very few people with a strong competitive streak that don't flip out at games from time to time - particularly online. The desire to be the best is a powerful thing. It's also unattainable for someone employed. Basically, you're not to blame if you're not being a dick. Let's break that down.
If you're not playing a game with me, but you're in the room, leave me alone. I don't want advice, empathy, or anything. My hollerin' is venting, that's all. I've had girlfriends who are bad at this and others that are good. Let me tell you: it can be an issue with the wrong chick.
If you're playing a game with me, the law is sportsmanship. I don't bitch over voice-chat or in person, I don't brag, just congratulate others on a good game and move on. Unless, of course, they want to trash talk. Then, I will pretty much be dead silent. Typically, trash talking turns me me into Angry Rainman. I will definitely... definitely kick your ass. (or not.) To avoid this whooping: don't trash talk, don't laugh at me if I'm not already laughing, don't use exploits, don't play against me in a game that I've never played and "forget" to explain some of the rules, etc.
If you're not to blame but being around the other person is making you feel bad, then remove yourself from the situation. If it's bad enough that you're constantly removed from the situation, maybe it's time to talk to the person when they're separated from their controller.
The outcry and boycotting crap is ridiculous. It's obvious from what's out there already that there's an above average amount of content on the game disc. Furthermore, the DLC doesn't seem like it will be available on release day but actually some time after which just means that they took 2-3 months to make it after they were done with the game. Showing it right now is perhaps in poor judgement on one hand, but it also shows an active commitment to development. Last, and most importantly, you don't need to buy DLC if you don't want it.
