This Is How Ghostbusters: The Video Game Starts

Commentary
Gametrailers scored this clip of the opening cinematic from Ghostbusters: The Video Game. It hits a lot of good notes--kicking things off with regular people in paranormal peril, recalling the original Ghostbusters TV ad, references to Gozer and Ivo Shandor--but it all feels kind of... off. The way that Peter, Ray, and Egon's voices are out of sync when they say "we're ready to believe you!" and the heavy-handedness of the Gozer stuff just takes me out of the moment. That said, I have to admit that I got a little tingle once the Huey-Lewis-esque strains of Ray Parker Jr.'s Ghostbusters (Who You Gonna Call?, The Love Theme from Ghostbusters) kicked in. I think if I can figure out a way to completely deactivate my analytical brain, I'm going to enjoy the living hell out of Ghostbusters: The Video Game.
