Shown during the live stream featuring the launch of P4A2 in arcades was its arcade opening plus a bit from what is presumably the beginning of the game's story mode.

It's a fantastic opening, especially compared to the original game's (which can be seen here).

That is indeed much better than the original P4A arcade opening.

I loved the catch phrases from the first P4:A, this was pretty great in a different way, though. I really do love the weird splicing of the Midnight Channel and the Dark Hour. You know, there's three more games on the horizon featuring Persona 3 & 4 characters, and even though only one of them is heavily story-based, it's still strangely comforting in a way knowing we're going to be seeing more of them. I want Persona 5 to be related only tangentially as much as anyone, but I'm going to be legitimately sad when these characters are put on the shelf forever.

In the meantime, no Adachi in the opening. Doesn't mean he's not a playable character (they didn't show Sho either and he's playable, I'd assume). Throw Dojima in there to fight Adachi, too. Why not. Can't wait.

Elizabeth isn't shown in the opening either (and none of the Shadow characters), so I wouldn't analyze it too much.

Better than the Arcade opening of the original game, but not better than it's intro. I hope the new piece of animation for the intro is just as good, since I really liked the original's.

Shadow Labrys shows up for a split-second after Yu and Labrys clash.

She doesn't count since she was from the previous game.

Hopefully nerfed though *Cough* *cough*

Hopefully that Kanji/Mitsuru moment is indicative that Kanji stands a chance against a good Mitsuru now.

Never thought Mitsy was that bad, myself. Felt like Kanji needed a hand, though.

@superkenon: Yeah, Mitsuru maybe doesn't need a nerf, but she shuts Kanji down pretty hard.

So I'd be happy with a nerf to her, or a nice buff to my chair wielding monster.

He is the best designed grappler in any fighting game in my opinion, it's just a shame that in certain match-up he gets so locked down.

I usually don't like the look of animated cutscenes in games with this style, but yeah, that looks fantastic.

He probably doesn't stand a chance still. In my opinion, none of the Persona 4 characters could stand up to the 3 characters in terms of fighting (except maybe Ken and Koro). And besides, at this point, Akihiko and Mitsuru are probably the two strongest non wild card users in the world.
